I find the Siege story plausible and realistic, at least within the context of the 40K universe.  Heck, the true story behind WWI would be less plausible. ÂÂ
"So, let's get this straight?  The whole world went to war because some worthless royal couple got shot?  That's totally lame."
It sounds to me like he had a bad experience with the army list and lashed out at the bulk of the work.
Considering we actually had a really fun game, I don't think he was "lashing out"... *laugh*
See, he plays "non-Chaos renegade Space Marines" (They're religious fanatics as well, semi-Muslim, believing the Emperor is the "Last Prophet"), so he was intrigued by non-Chaos IG renegade... the "whiff of Chaos" in there completely ruined if for him... cuz it's *ALWAYS* Chaos, not "human choices" that are the issue in 40k... it just really irked him. *laugh*
His irritation with the "Preachers" was just that, despited being heretics/renegades, they'd be
fearless when Space Marine Chaplains aren't.
And he really liked the Death Korps.
Speaking of which, it sounds like the army list itself needs a whole bunch of playtests before the book goes to print. I will promise to play it once the tournament is over.
