Army construction errors: The Minervan player made an error by not including any flak in his list.  I, in turn failed to use 105 points out of stupidity.  This is what happens when you are rushing and throwing together a list.  Next time I think I will have my list ready beforehand.

Turn 1: Eldar take the Strategy Roll.
After playing ePilgrim for many years, I have become dreadfully fearful of artillery companies.  I’m eyeballing those Basilisks and decide the safest move is marching my Guardians into the cover of the forest.

It's a dog-eat-dog world, and I've got my Milkbone underwear on.

The Minervans are annoyed slightly by my denying them an exposed formation and target my SoV#2 formation, killing Falcons and collecting a bevy of blastmarkers.

I marshaled the formation, moving up behind cover and removing all of the BMs I had just collected.

The Mechanized Infantry take notice that I am cover-hopping and decide to unload their troops into the woods north of my reinforced Guardian position.

Not wanting to lose the opportunity, I activate the spacecraft and strike at the middle Baneblade.  The hit does 3 points of damage killing it outright and leaves the formation out of coherency as well. 4 BMs also adorn the formation.

Thunderbolts streak from the sky and strafe the War Walkers which kills two of the light vehicles.  I can truly say I have never made a single armor save with these fellas but I love them anyway.

Eldar retain with the five strong Sword or Vaul formation, double it and fire at the SHTs.  The lance shot does nothing but the pulse weapons cause two damage to one Baneblade and the formation breaks.  But now my SoV formation is exposed.

Revenge is in the air as Warhound #1 performs a single move, fires a single MW shot and kills… only one Falcon!  Whew!

Eldar Revenants double and manage to get a single Thunderer casualty at extreme range.

The Minervan Thunderers move and shoot in turn at the Revenants, and only two shots land.  The shell penetrates the holofields however and one DC is lost already.

The Seer Council decides to prompt the War Walkers to marshal, feeling that they may soon be a target again.  They move up and into cover of the Imperial buildings and all the BMs are removed.

Warhound #2 strides forward on a double, launching another MW attack against the SoV#1 formation.  Two falcons are lost and the formation breaks and runs.

The Black Guardians decide to position themselves for turn 2 and speed across the battlefield in their Wave Serpents.  Their shuriken cannons cannot hurt the Thunderers, but they leave a BM despite their ineffectiveness.

The Supreme Commander orders the Leman Russ Company to double toward the Revenants.  7 hits translate into one Revenant outright killed and the other w only 2 DC left and no holofields.  It is a brutal beating the Eldar will not appreciate for the rest of the game.  The sole surviving Revenant flees backwards.

The Guardians in the Vampire decide now is the time.  They air assault the Artillery Company with a clipping assault kills one Guardian unit, three Basilisks, and then an additional two IG units are lost in the assault resolution.  The remaining four units flee to the blitz objective.

The Thunderbolts that were so adept and striking without coming under anti-aircraft are not so fortunate on their exiting the board.  The Firestorms rip them out of the sky, leaving neither alive.

The vampire, on the other hand, leaves unimpeded.

The Revenant Titan and the SoV#1 formation fail to rally.  Everything else rallies for the Eldar and Imperial Guard.

Turn 2
There is a lot going on here and the Ulthwe’ Eldar are positioned to strike everywhere.  They are also in a position to be pummeled everywhere.  All I can hope for is the Strategy Roll to go my way.

And it does.  Eldar go first.

The Cobras move and shoot, 6 shots on the LR formation but –fortunately for the IG- only two dead.  It’s right on odds though so I didn’t complain.
