Look what happened to Avalon Hill when Hasbro bought it.

Technically Avalon Hill was disbanded when Hasbro bought it so in my mind they saved a lot of quality games.

What didn't you like about it? ASL is now with Multi-man and we got a bunch of new Axis and Allies and Risk games, Battle Cry, Monster's Menace America...

What don't I like? That Hasbro canned every AH non-computer game that existed before the buy-out. Name one AH game that Hasbro ever continued to produce after the buy out. Name one wargame that Hasbro has released that uses only cardboard pieces. Games like Risk, Axis and Allies, Stratego, etc. are not true AH-style games. They are games released under the aegis of the AH name. If it weren't for companies like MMP, we wouldn't still have any of the AH classics.

I'm honestly surprised that they haven't done this yet, but if Tom Kirby et. al.

Knowing the madness of Kirby et. al., and having experienced some of it first hand (I used to work for GW Canada), I wouldn't be surprised if they fought tooth-and-nail against a buy-out, even resorting to some kind of "poison pill" tactics... the *love* being the kings of their little kingdom.

Seeing as how Nottingham was the site of another popular uprising in history... maybe we need to get bows and go hide in the forest, and then we can stop their limos as they leave work one day and rob them of their stock!  We can go around and redistribute it to the little people.

Well, the gw bashing never ends, despite the great universe they gave to us.

Oh, yes. Just out of the goodness of their little hearts. I even hear that they are kind to the small fury creatures (maming only)of the forest and help old ladies under busses too.

Yes, I agree. It is a wonderful universe concept et all. But if it was no longer the best option to make their money I have no doubt that it would be dropped with the rest of our games quicker than you could say 'golly gosh!'

If people are bitter about something you can bet there is a reason behind it. Spending money, investing time, getting into something new and becoming bothered about a thing is a big deal and when that thing is 'seemingly' tossed aside in preference for something better/more expensive people become just a tad despondent and angry... more so when the same pattern is repeated later on.

Yes, yes. They are here to make money... (that old chestnut) but if they want us to be happy about it take better care of us or they will just have to put up with the bashing they deserve. They can always stuff their ears with a wad of dollars and drown us out anyway.

To quote Krooza... Nuff Said!

(Sorry Blackhorizon this is not directed at you but I want to make my feelings clear on how I feel about GW)

Oh, I don't agree with GW many times, I mean there latest gaming board is a complete farce in my opinion.

But prices rice, yes, logical. At other companies employees get a x% raise in wage each year. The same thing for GW employees. In order to compensate this their product needs to raise in price as well. Ofcourse one can debate if a raise isn't over the top. I don't agree with high wages or bonusses for chairmen and directors (at almost any company).

But in GW bashing people sometimes forget that they have employees who need to be paid to life. And that's a reason to increase prizes, just like other products.

And Lord of the Rings is a great system which brough GW the highest profit ever so don't start about that. I believe if it wasn't for LotR Specialist Games would have been discarded long ago.
Currently SG is on GW's own page positioned in the same way as 40k/whfb/lotr. What's to moan?

Ok, I get that but it's not always about the money. I'm still here and spending. I just don't like how fans are treated after they have served their purpose. also I have nothing against the serfs and minions of the company. Just the Robber Barons.

Besides this is all very down and sad. on with the bashing and enjoy the ride sure in the knowledge that we are all sane and correct thinking with reasons for our words.

OK

Back to the purpose of the thread....

I also took everything off the site. My main question is.....where are we, and are we able to (forgoing Intellectual rights)host the lists in one loaction? The wikki is ok, however it provides links to various locations, some of them no longer existant...

The main rulebook for EA is hard enough to find. Can we get it all on one site without issues from GW?

If the site or hosting is the issue, then I can provide both. Why can't we host them from this site?

So many questions....

So what are people's thoughts?

Finding the rulebook is fairly easy at the GW site:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws....4900003

The other articles are still under debate. Cybershadow & Mod-Lex at SG can shed most light on that if they have received official answers.

Edit: Warhead, I also do wish GW went back to the more hobby orientated company they where in the past, but alas....

For one, as usual, the link does not go anywhere (blank page with GW heading)

Secondly, I am using the ea rulebook posted here rather than the GW one (the one that actually has updates. The fact that it is not easily accessible (other than intense searching of this site), screams out to me that we need a central resource hub much like SG used to supply....
