Finally got back to playing some EPIC... dang Warmachine distracting everyone!

This was a test of the NetEA suggestions and all that using some fairly standard lists, on a rather interesting battlefield.

VERY interesting table indeed, and thoughtful IG objective placement, I first thought WTF? but then studied the deployments more thoroughly...

Can´t wait to read more!

I love the island terrain idea. Looking forward to seeing how they influence the battle.

I like the look of the terrain as well. However I would make the water impassable as it's supposed to be inlands .

Shallow inland sea... *laugh*  And it is impassible to vehicles... and skimmers can't end a move on it, so even the Eldar are a bit hindered by it, can't just double across!

More to come soon, got caught up in "weekend duties"...

Turn 1

No teleports.

Strategy Roll: Biel-Tan

Locating easy prey, the paired Revenants advance easily through the water and fire on Sentinels Epsilon, taking out two of the small walkers and breaking the squadron.

Mech Company Charlie mounts up and doubles forward to clear the Ranger scum out of the Cathedral.  The Command unit, and Commissar, fall to sniper fire, but the rest of the formation pumps twenty attacks into the enemy… scoring no hits.

Informed that the bait has been taken, the Autarch leads Aspect Warhost 1 out of the Wraithgate and into a firefight with Company Charlie.  The surprise attack takes out three Chimera and two Infantry before the Imperials can even respond!  Their response is poor and undirected, doing no damage to the Eldar who wind up fully routing the monkeys, scattering them completely.

The excited comm chatter forces the Autarch to get Falcon Troupe Red doubling, instead of partying, and they move up to give air cover, taking no shots.

Tank Company Beta doubles toward the enemy and lines up Falcon Red, taking out two Falcons and forcing them to fall back.

The Marauders follow up by bombing Aspect Warhost 1, hitting both the Autarch and Exarch, who both manage to save, but scythe down one Shining Spear and one Swooping Hawk.

The sorrow caused by those Eldar deaths prevent Falcon Troupe Green from fully appreciating their orders and they only move towards the Cathedral.

Tank Company Alpha doubles down the road and lets loose on Falcon Troupe Green, completely eliminating the xenos tanks!

Windrider Troupe 2 double to flank Tank Company Beta and puts a Blast marker on them.

Sentinels Foxtrot advance out of the ruins to fire on the Revenants and do 1DC damage to the lead Scout Titan!

Aspect Warhost 2 doubles to the other flank of Tank Company Beta and catches them in a crossfire which takes out one Leman Russ.

Mech Company Delta requests confirmation of orders and then doubles forward once they are validated.  They pour a tonne of fire on the Ranger Troupe, a total of twenty-one attacks… that score one hit… that is saved.

The Guardian Warhost doubles, winding its way through the ruins and bridges to fire on Sentinal Foxtrot, placing a single Blast marker.

With over half the battlefield free of enemy air defence, the Thunderbolts dive down to ground attack Aspect Warhost 1, this time the Warp Spider Exarch dies, but the Warp Spider Autarch lives due to her invulnerable save… *WHEW*

The Mech HQ then mounts up, threads its way to the larger island and manages to do another 1DC damage to the lead Revenant…

End of Turn:

Falcons Red and the Rangers both fail to rally.

Russ Company Beta and Sentinels Epsilon also fail to rally.

Eagerly awaiting the rest I must ask where those houses come from?
The cathedral and the (whole) building blocks.

That is a nice looking board.

Can I just ask what are the Revenants doing going for a swim in the latest photo?

It's shallow water for Revenants, they're just going for a paddle with their shoes and socks off.

Hey Erik!

The Cathedral is a solid resin piece that Forge World used to put out for EPIC that I got for a song when GW Canada got out of EPIC.

The non-ruined buildings are scenery that I've made using/modifying facades a friend of mine, Pipboy, made a couple of years ago... I'll try to find a link in the terrain forum when I first started making them.

Sorry for the delay in getting the rest of the report up, I was only recently informed by the wife that we're entertaining guests tonight... and I'm the one supposed to be making dinner!   :O

Back later!

*AND* it gives them the -1 to be hit while in cover!  (We actually treated it as difficult terrain for them, so I was constantly rolling walker tests as well.)
