Well as the header says. Aren't the Strategic Assets from Wh40k Apocalypse essentially the old Fate Cards from Epic40k?

How about reworking the Strategic Assets to fit Epic: Armageddon? Say each army gains one Strategic Asset per 1000pts (or fraction of it) of the armies value?

I think I know where you're going with this, but I have no idea how to do it. :sulk:

Well Obrital Bombardement is already covered with Spacecrafts :) And things such as Redeployment, Flank March (are this the correct names?), etc are covered by the size of Epic games itself, too.

(So why did you post this?)

Really let 40K have the fate cards idea they stole from the old Epic-40k, I never really liked them anyways.

What I really would like to do some work on would be special characters for Epic-A.

Just make em fun not overpowering. Sorta like giving them one extra ability over a normal character of the same type, and/or a special weapon ability attack.

Like Yarrick, Supreme Co, Inspiring, Leader, Power Claw +1A MW, Any formation with Yarrick attached to it becomes Fearless.

Jaldon :p

Well i liked the old Fate Cards alot. Expecially the army specific ones.
I opened this thread to look if there is interesting if i would convert some Strategic Assets from Apocalypse for use in Epic: Armageddon.

Interested but I don't think that they would work in standard games. I'd suggest limiting them to games of more than 4000pts.

Perhaps allow one per 3000pts of troops on the table per side?

Agreed, I don't think they would be appropriate for Tournament style games. However, they could be fun for pick up games or scenarios, giving some variety.

For the 4-way game we played on the Sunday after the Northeast Epic tourney, we used fate cards. Instead of having 1 per X number of points, we decided that a player had to do something specific to earn one.

Which E40k stole from Warhammer FRPG. That was the first time I used fate cards for WFRPG about 15 years ago.
