Moray Squadron
- 2 Moray Assault Ship

As with Warhounds, there's pretty much no reason to tie these together.

2 x Thunderbolts

2x Thunderbolt Squadrons?

Well they are more vulnerable to fire and assaults (than Warhounds). More so as they cannot hide. But asaura needs to comment on that as I didn't play Tau.

This was the first time I've used Morays. Initially, I thought I'd go with separate formations, but I hated the idea of again fielding a Crisis+SC as the BTS objective. He gets whacked and then I'm up frightful creek. Having both the Morays in one formation made them the BTS target.

It worked, too, in a way...  :alien:

I made one big blunder in the setup. It was ignoring the potential supporting fire + BM from Hena's land speeders. I'm used to always having a screen of scouts to prevent that, but this time I decided not to deploy a solid screen. This proved extremely costly, as we shall see.

The second blunder was intermingling the Crisis suits with the RG Hammerheads. I felt they could withstand an air assault, what with the overwatching Firewarriors and everything. In reality, they just made for a fatter target. I should've avoided this by setting up in wider zone, so that no-one would be intermingled.

Thanks for the battle report Hena.

Looking at the Tau army list (It looks pretty un-optimised, and keeping the Morays together was a very poor choice), and being as your opponent deployed vital formations nicely intermingled against an air assault Marine army, I'm not too surprised to see him lose.

Please do not make blanket statements with no supporting arguments. It is not possible to rebut them, when there's no visible rationale. Yours is an extremely unfruitful method of discussion.

I've posted the rationale for fielding the Morays together. Please address the points made or shut up. Note that they were the BTS formation and had a decent chance of surviving the battle.

What about the list was unoptimized. Posting unsupported bullcrap is not gonna fly.
