I got to play the Necrons against the Eldar this past Saturday against a a relatively inexperienced opponent who had never fought against the Necrons. I took the game 2-0 rather handily, but the game felt balanced; in other words, you could tell where his tactics were failing rather than the army list overpowering.
In my game I ran two formations of 2 x Monoliths + 3 x Obelisks. I found them to be quite sturdy and fair at assaults (9 attacks at FF5+) for 295 points. At one point I kept hoping for my opponent to shoot at them more to break them  but he didn't. My point is that the Monoliths might be a bit underpowered at +2 extra attacks, but I can't help but feel they would be a bit overpowered at +3 extra attacks.
