While at Salute, I saw some of the Star Mogul miniatures. While they were really nice, they were crazy expensive (twenty of our finest UK pounds for a large droid?).
That said, I have heard a few good things about the Star Mogul warband game. I wondered if anyone can recommend it as an interesting game.
I am aware that Maksim has played it and finds a few balance issues (snipers, scavenging totals), and I wonder what is it about the game that makes it good or bad in your opinions?
  Thanks.

						 Hi Iain,
The game mechanics are very straight forward and I've heard that the weapons balance issues have been solved in the latest version.
I can definitely say that the designers are great guys, always friendly and willing to answer questions.
Weapons hits are very simple: Under armor # = miss / no penetration Equal armor # = wound Over armor # = kill / death
There is a campaign system, which rewarded human players over robots. The alien factions hadn't been integrated into the game when I last played.
The Demo Bot is a HUNK of metal... probably worth the entire price.
The minis are expensive, but they have alot of character.
Matakishi of M's Teahouse like it. I have him linked from my blog.
I find it to be a simplified Necromunda. In fact, we've considered using Necromunda for the next game.
  Hope that helps, Iain.
  Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

						Maksim.
Thanks for your thoughts. I am interested in the rules, and I will probably pick them up in the near future... although I am also being drawn to Attack Vector: Tactical right now!

Just to bring this old thread back to life... Does the rules system have hit locations, or just a 'wound' characteristic?
Also, does this hit location come into play during the game, or after the game?
For example, can a model be hit in the arm during the game, or is it just 'hit' and suffers a bad arm from the end of the game, or are there no locations hit specifically at all?
  Thanks.
