So it's call the Plaguereaper, apparently.

The Decimator can be renamed in 5, 4, 3, 2....

Is it just me that thinks that looks awful?

I reckon stick with the Decimator for BL and use that for Death Guard

As far as I'm concerned, the Black Legion list will now be conspicuously lacking the 'Plaguereaper', and instead will have a fan-made 'Decimator' in its place. That's not going to help Epic's accessability issues.

You might as well ask why the Black Legion only goes to war with Banelords.

Since it says "conversion", I'm going to assume it's not a "standard" unit, but something built using the neo-VDR rules.

It's a coversion set for the Baneblade, which turns it into a Plaguereaper. So it's 100% official.

Cuz that's the "generic" name for the "biggest" standard Chaos Titan... they list names for all the other Chaos Gods in the flavour text.

Other, Powers-focused lists will have their specialized Titans and war engines.

Why wouldn't you just call a Nurgle-marked Decimator a "Plaguereaper"?  Won't they practically be the same thing?

No it's not, it's the name for a Warlord Titan that's been dedicated to Khorne.

Why wouldn't you just call a Nurgle-marked Decimator a "Plaguereaper"?

Because the Decimator is a fan-made tank that'll never get a model, while the Plaguereaper is a Nurgle-blessed Baneblade.

I'm not thinking of Apocalypse scale, I'm thinking for Epic...

Funny, I've spoken to a couple of the 40K nuts at my FLGS and they can't see why they need Apocalypse when epic exists..

Apocalypse is for those people who want to get together and play a mega-battle with some semblance of a system that was actually designed for such a thing (40k is firmly designed around 1500pts).

It isn't a officially conversion set. You take a Baneblade and lots of greenstuff and other parts to convert it to a Plaguereaper.
Same as with the BrassScorpion. The only difference with the BrassScorpion is that it existed in Epic previously.

And they list Painlord, Plaguelord, and Warplord in the flavour text, courtesy of Jervis with "Banelord" being both the Khorne and the "generic" name... fluff changes.
