Quote (MaksimSmelchak @ 25 2003 July,08:32) | Taz, Maybe it would be worth building a gallery of all these cool pics? |
It would have to be unofficial or require a password or GW wouldn't like it one bit. Maybe someone could ask Jervis, but I don't think his power extends out that far. The photos probably have corporate ownership. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |
No, I dont imagine they would!
I am quite happy to put together and host such a gallery, which being seperate from this forum would then distance any official GW objections.
So if you've got em- send em to me and I'll see what I can do.

Hi!
As I have pointed out before the fastest way to earn a visit from the GW "inquisition" is to post online some of their art.
That's a big NO-NO!

Thats why I suggested that for our own personal enjoyment and reliving classic GW products in a completely non-commercial way, I am willing to host a webpage with the pics on them. It will not be advertised anywhere but here so it wont be out and about on the web.
If the GW guys come knocking, I'll take it down. Simple-no fuss. I think the important thing is that we can enjoy the pics. After all, it will only inspire us to play and buy more GW products.....so this drips with irony!

Hi!
Thats a good way of doing it, or just make the website password encoded and give the password to those you know.
Either way should be safe.

That's why I suggested the password as well.
I have a pet project in which I've been xeroxing the catalogue, advertizement and colour background pages of White Dwarfs and other magazines into a single three-ring binder.
I also have a Word document that I've been slowly putting together that catalogues all of the product codes for all of the Epic incarnations.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
This may turn out to be a good idea. Sort of a archive that is private and accessible by "authorized" members only. I have a lot of good stuff to share if if could do it this way.

I am happy to have a look at doing this and seeing how feasible it could be.
Give me a few days to play with what I already have, then I will see what people want to send. I will PM contributors with the password.
This is a totally non commercial project for the private enjoyment of forum members, so I'll ask people not to give away the password. If asked, I will simply delete the site.
I'm frosty Jimbo. We have only just had that discussion and we dont need to go there again right now

Quote (primarch @ 26 2003 July,10:12) | But private is private, as long as it stays that way I see no problems. |
Exactly, and this isnt for general www consumption... Its a "measured decision", "calculated risk", "insert trendy mangement phrase here"
OK, I've got an initial webpage up using Frontpage (OK I got motivated and it didnt take a few days at all!), but I am unsure of the best way to set a password, having never had to before.
Can anyone out there help?

Can anyone tell me who was planning the RT Tournament next spring in the DC/Baltimore area? If so, do you also know how it's proceeding.
It turns out my sister and brother-in-law got their orders and will definitely be stationed in DC, so I am quite interested in planning a visit to coincide with the tourney.
My apologies if this was posted on a different board. I get them mixed up.
