Well, as far as I'm concerned, most everything looked great.

The dif. varieties of Saurus were the only ones that were somewhat less appealing.  If we aren't going to use spawning related names, I'd prefer to take another look at these.

Of course, maybe different names aren't really needed.  Just call them assault saurus, heavy weapon saurus, etc., etc.  Not my prefered choice, but servicable.

Just my thoughts, anyone else have an opinion?

I think I'm gonna re-name the heavy weapon guys to Scar-Veterans again and the Supreme Commander to the Oldblood. Old Bloods are THE oldest dudes around... And it feels more right for them to be the leader (After all, in WHF they're Lords while Scar-Veterans are only Heros.) I might make Scar Veterans be a character with just Commander as well, which seems appropriate. He doesn't have better leadership skills, just better coordination abilities, and better personal combat abilities.

Let's bring this post to life again. Lately i have had plenty of free time, so maybe i could try to make my own slann army and test the list (my girlfriend is going to kill me if she realizes what i have just said!). So, what should i buy from DRM to make an small-but-not-ridiculous army, and playtest the rules?

Does anyone have any photos of Slann/Dracons painted up?

Just for Slann but has anyone seen the Baccus walkers? Not sure of the size but sure give me the impression of Slann.

The Baccus walkers are very near in size to IG Sentinels.  Maybe not as tall, but wider.  Def. built sturdier.

I'm quite a ways from being ready to start on my Lizards.  I haven't heard of anyone else having made much progress either.

@Yuber Okami,
If I recall correctly, DRM didn't have as many walkers as there were in the list.  You might need to find a substitute.  I'll be using a scad of the very nice walkers that came with the Risk 2210 game, but Baccus should work as well.

Uhm, ok, but i was mainly interesting in a Slann army instead of an lizarmen one (i mean, using the most advanced tanks, as much slanns as possible, etc). Anyway, my question is still unanswered: can anyone tell me the cheapest way for getting an army? (something like "you have to buy one blister of this, basing 3 guys per base, then a blister of whatever...)

I'm assuming you are refering to the army list developed in this thread rather than the Slann that appear in NetEpic.  This list is the one I was refering to.

The intention of my post was to advise that, AFAIK, no one has built this army, thus there is no data upon which to base any recommendations.

You will most likely have to look at the list, decide what units you like or feel are important.  Then decide how you would prefer to base them (whether you stick to tournament basing rules is your choice).

The only advise I had to offer was that I didn't think DRM had enough different walkers to build an army and that you would need to look elsewhere for more.  If you don't plan on using many walkers, then that isn't a problem.  Just keep in mind, this list was meant to be a "Space Lizardmen" list, not an Old Ones list so it may be difficult to leave the lizards out.

Baccus has several new walkers. Haven't checked the size yet but look good.

Working with the "Old Ones" can also include the Dracons, thus my interest in this forum.

Now that EA is willing to make something which resembles slann infantry, maybe we can modify and put to action this post...
