Interesting report. I like your table a lot. Do you have more bits for that big corner hill?

Just interested. Why do you play long edges? Meaning that you deploy to short and are forced to run longer length? I would think that some armies would be more easier to play like this.

Now I'm soon starting to wait for 2k games (and onwards to 3k) from your end :D.

Nope, these are the only boards I own at the mo but I am hoping to get three more bits some time - two river sections and either a corner hill or marsh.

We play it in this way because its a small table and if we ere to deploy on the long edges then Rhino mounted SMs could get into the deployment zones on turn 1!

2K and 3K games will be coming soon...

So your list would have been effected by haviong no emplacements for the batteries and the cost of the infantry being 175 points more (so you probably would have had to drop the stormhammer).

I think we'll see how the game on Tuesday goes, then I'll start to implement some changes. As it was the StormHammer didn't really do much and the arty was never challenged throughout the game.

Whay no emplacements for the artillery batteries?

What size is one square then? Basicly also asking the size of the 3 x 2 (squares) table?

Each square is 50cm x 50cm, so altogether its 100cm by 150cm.

They become too survivable. Its either up the points or drop something. Stats wise they can't get worse and they aren't worth 175 points a battery, so emplacements go as they are a better choice than transports. Also differentiates from rt companies.

Cna't believe I've only just picked up on this thread... another interesting battle report to read, thanks very much Stug!

Makes me lament the fact I'm not likely to get a game of Epic in until the Call to Arms SG tournament... :(

The Orks had a knocked-out Battle Fortress to capture and the Ultramarines had a bunker to capture. They both had Blitzkrieg Objectives to capture in eachother's deployments zones.

The Ultramarines had a Tactical Detachment mounted up in Rhinos and a Razorback in the centre of their deployment zone, with the Devestator Detachment to their left in Rhinos. Assault marines on the hill on the left. LandSpeeders on the right of the deployment zone. Another Tactical Detachment with one Dreadnought was mounted up in the ThunderHawk.

Orks deployed both StormBoyz bands across their entire frontage, a jump away from the bunker. Stompas in centre. Warband on their right with DethKoptas all to the rear.

Turn One.

The SpaceMarine Devestators doubled and dismounting took up postions near the Battlefortress obj. Seeing the Ultramarines advancing, the Ork Warband marched directly towards BattleFortress.
The Tactical Marines doubled and took up position in ruins in front of bunker. In reply, the StormBoyz band jumped in and took possession of bunker. They were further reinforced by the other StormBoyz formation.
The Assault Marines reinforced the Devestator positions at the ruins just beside the Battlefortress.
The DethKoptas doubled in front of Warband, trying to race ahead of their foot-slogging brethren. The other DethKoptas failed their initiative test and just moved slowly towards the bunker.
The Ultramarine Land Speeders doubled up next to the Tactical marines and fired upon the StormBoyz, killing about two stands.
The Stompas marched to the bunker, behind the StormBoyz.

The Warband advances towards the Battlefortress, eager to keep it out of the hands of the Ultramarines.
