Anyone have ideas how to convert the following FW SM vehicles or which proxies are ideal to use for Epic:
- Damocles Command Rhino
A Rhino with command antennas, satellite uplink, etc.
- HELIOS LAND RAIDER
A special Landraider with a missile launcher on top of the hull.
- LAND RAIDER - CRUSADER
A special Landraider that trades out its side lasers for x6 heavy bolters, adds gatling cannons up top, and has fragmentation charges on the hull.
- LAND RAIDER PROMETHEUS COMMAND TANK
A special Landraider with command capability.
- LAND SPEEDER TEMPEST
A Landspeeder with a one-man armoured cockpit, larger wings, missiles, and a souped-up engine.
- Whirlwind Hyperios
A SAM Rhino for the SMs.

- How about the following FW IG vehicles:
- ATLAS RECOVERY TANK
It looks like a Leman Russ chassis with an A-frame towing jig and other recovery equipment.
- Chimera (Gryphonne IV pattern) with autocannon turret
A Chimera with an autocannon turret.
- CYCLOPS DEMOLITION VEHICLE
It looks similar to the German WWII remote control demolition tank. It's essentially a tankette packed with explosives.
- Imperial Valkyrie Airborne Assault Carrier
Air cav for the IG.
- Imperial Vulture Gunship
A gunship to cover the air cav.
- SENTINEL POWERLIFTER
A sentinel with two load carrying claws / cargo arms. Anyone have recall from "Aliens 2?"
- TARANTULA SENTRY GUN WITH HEAVY BOLTERS
A Tarantula variant with twin linked heavy bolters instead of the standard twin linked heavy lasers.
- TARANTULA SENTRY GUN WITH LASCANNONS
A Tarantula variant with the standard twin linked heavy lasers.

How about the following E-A SM units:
- HUNTER (use a Whirlwind to represent Hunters for the moment)
Another SM SAM Rhino. How does this compare to the Whirlwind Hyperios?
- LAND SPEEDER - Standard (No models yet, use whatever you have to hand!)
It's the same as the Epic-40k metal Landspeeder except without the heavy support weapon mounted under the chassis.
- LAND SPEEDER TYPHOON (No models yet, use whatever you have to hand!)
It's a standard Landspeeder with two AP missile launchers mounted on either side of the rear fuselage.
- SPACE MARINE COMMANDER

Yep, I did the same with a Helios, I plan to do a couple more.
For Hunters/Hyperios, just use a standard Whirlwind, but paint the launcher a different colour than the rest of your Whirlwinds.
Rhino Command Tank - Standard Rhino with a few BFG ariels stuck on the top?
Just a few ideas...

Rhino AA vehicle: I did an AA version of a rhino a couple of years back. I used a plastic rhino and added the launcher from a H&R Russian SAM-8 Gecko launcher (I think). This is the result:

Rhino Command vehicle: The Rhino command vehicle you can do following modern practice . I added to the structure of an existing vehicle:

This one is actually the hull of a plastic Orc battle wagon that I used as the hull for a series of recce vehicles.

Hehe, great stuff!!
To make the Damocles, I'd make the uplink dish from a bit of thin plasticard, and maybe add some whip ariels made from thin wire or something similar....

Great Stuff, Bob!!!
A command vehicle (like a US M577, check the GHQ site, is nothing more than a "tall" M113. I've commanded from both.)
It can just have a built-up superstructure and more antennas. Or even a small "dish" for Satcom. Again... easy ? ?
We use the SM-1 Mk1 Whirlwind as FA and the SM2/E40K Mk2/3(pl) as AAA. Too easy... ?

Hunter: ?I use a mix of the old and new Whirlwinds. The odd-man-out is the Hunter.
Landspeeder Typhoon: I was just thinking about this, but haven't gotten to the point of pulling out the figures to check sizes... ?
Would the old Whirlwind missile launcher boxes fit on a Landspeeder figure?

For the Landspeeder Typhoon I think you could quite easily make the missile boxes from a little piece of sprue or plastic rod cut to shape, as I think the old Whirlwind missile box would be a little too big I think....

Yes,
The SM1 Whirlwind launchers are too big.
Maybe E40K Thunderbolt missiles, suitably modified?

I'm updating my latest ideas:

- This shouldn't be too hard since all I have to do is to add comms equipment until I get a "command" version.
- HELIOS LAND RAIDER
A special Landraider with a missile launcher on top of the hull.
- Most people have suggested using Whirlwind missiles, but I want something that better approximates the squarish missile box on the HELIOS.
- LAND RAIDER - CRUSADER
A special Landraider that trades out its side lasers for x6 heavy bolters, adds gatling cannons up top, and has fragmentation charges on the hull.
- I have had two ideas how to do this:
- 1. Cut up three Leman Russ Bolter sponsons to approximate the heavy bolters and don't worry about the gatling cannons..
- 2. Use BFG Imperial weapons turrets to approximate the heavy bolters and the assault gun off of a Landspeeder.
- LAND RAIDER PROMETHEUS COMMAND TANK
A special Landraider with command capability.
- This shouldn't be too hard since all I have to do is to add comms equipment until I get a "command" version.l Landraider with command capability.

- I think that if I add a Mk.I metal Leman Russ turret that it would do the job!

Well, I'm not an expert at converting, but I did the following:
Crusader:
I used four BFG chaos turrets to represent the side sponsons, two assault guns from the plastic IG sentinel and a melta-gun from the squat trike mounted on the turret.
Land Speeder Typhoon:
Cut a missile launcher from the Whirlwind in half and mount it on the sides of the Land Speeder.
Land Raider Prometheus:
Use two bolter sprues from the Thunderhawk, cut in half and mount them one on top of the other and use the turret from the Whirlwind "sans" missiles as a command turret.
Well, that's about it.
I have photos, but no way of posting them. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Land Raider - Crusader: I'm thinking along the same lines of using BFG turrets for the sponsons. I'm thinking that if I cut off the lascannons off the plastic Land Raider turret then I can easily move in the BFG turrets.
I really like the idea about the Sentinel guns and the melta-gun from the Squat trike.

Land Speeder - Typhoon: Do you mean the original boxy Whirlwind turret or the more recent one with missile tubes?
