Quote Clausewitz
Still slightly confused regards the Rab Bombs.  Its not a BP weapon but uses the large template?  So every unit under the template is hit with a MW2+ TK(D3) hit?  I can't help thinking that I must be wrong as that would wipe out most formations, wouldn't it?
And I could have 3 in 2700 points?
End Quote

Yep, they can be real deadly, however the Land Train is limited to just one Bomb Battle Car, and the Land Train itself is limited by the 1/3 WE in points. In a 2,700pt battle that's 900pts in WE, and a single LT costs 350pts, and three of them would be 1,050 points, so the max is two.

Also it is a single shot direct fire weapon which really limits it's overall use, so for 700pts you get a two single shot weapons.

In battles opponents just don't stand in front of the thing when a Squat player fields one, until they are ready to tackle it up close, where the Rad Bomb can becomes as deadly to the LT as the target.

Single Engines pulling a single Bomb BC has been tried before, this puts only two Void Shields to cover the toy, and a DC-5, often the Engine gets dusted real quick and the Bomb BC supressed. Now it is one Void Shield/DC-2, and gets finished off pretty quick after that.

Playtesters have found a bigger Land Train is far more survivable and have gone to building, well bigger ones, then found the Rad Bomb is a nice toy, but as only one is now showing up it is less useful in the long term.

I'll admit the first time a player gets splattered by one they jump and say, "Now That's OTT", but once they realize it's a direct fire weapon, hence avoidable, and a single shot weapon they fear it far less.

The truth is it isn't really used that often, and then mostly for bigger battles.

Well those are my excuses anyways

Jaldon:-)

Land Train (300pts)
1xEngine and any 1xBattle Car
Upgrades: Living Ancestor, Up to 7xBattle Cars

I based my 3 in 2.7k on the 300 point cost listed.  Have I missed something?

With three I would place them near one another and use my first activation to place one of them on over-watch.  See if anything wants to come and try and kill the others then.:D

Oooops another Typo Land Train is suposed to be 350pts

Thanks for finding it, indirectly, but still thanks, and sorry.

On a personnal note, I must remember to fully check my work before posting, I really missed a ton on this one.

The only excuse I have is that I am not at home where, when I type up something to post, I print it out, check it next day at lunch against my proof, then fix and post it. In fact I will not be back home till mid August, that'll be a four month stick away from home this time. (Yuk)

A few typos are totally understandable.  I'm sure everyone will forgive you [:)]

I really like the list and its definately getting added to my "must try soon" list.

I also have to work away from home on occasion, so I have some idea of how much of a pain it can be. (Though fortunately, in my case, not quite so far from home.)

I generally find your work very good !  We made our L/Ancestor a Pyker (E40K) so will give him "Smite" as with E:A Lib. And H/Guard, Exo-armored will get an Invulnerable Save too, the other won't.  Will use the DoK stats for T/Gun (and Rapier), just our preference for standardization.  And will look forward to your Nobles biker stats.  We will continue to use our SM1 TO&Es, we like that system.   Many Thanks for putting the "Chubby little guyz w/attitude" back in Epic !  You saved us the task !  :D

Well done, Jaldon! I sorely miss my dwarf, er... Squat brethren as an "official" army!  :p  I look forward to future Squat lists.

i posted this on the old forums but only a day or two before it closed, so here goes again:

Grayjaw Ironsson's "Hellsmyth" Stronghold
red armour, blue under-suit, black boots, yellow belt

Grayjaw looked up as the human approached.  The guards were standing to attention, and watching the human closely for any signs of hostile intentions, but Grayjaw knew there was no reason to worry.  The human was one of the stronghold's very few external agents, used to keep a watchful eye on the machinations of the Imperium, particularly the treachorous, self-righteous Adeptus Mechanicus, and also the mysterious Eldar.  The human had been saved by the very actions of Grayjaw himself, back when the Squats and the Imperial Guard were on somewhat friendlier terms.  In the early days of the Genestealer-Tyranid threat, the two had often joined forces to liberate worlds that fell into the clutches of the bloodthirsty aliens.  Grayjaw had been scouting ahead with a small squad of Berserkers, combing a fallen hive city for the Genestealer cult that had swept through the populace.  Grayjaw was the first to stumble into a large gang of cultists as they carried the human (along with several others) to their "pantry".
The human stopped a little way in front of the table Grayjaw sat at.  Grayjaw looked him in the eyes and said
"What of this...rumour we hear? Is it true the Imperium claims the extinction of our race?"
The human took a breath before answering "Yes.  The official line is that the Squats were wiped out by the Tyranid onslaught.  They claim regret, but also that they sent all the help they could spare."
Grayjaw stroked his beard, lost in thought for a moment, before answering "We suspected as much.  What of the mining sites?"
"They have already begun to claim them for the Imperium.  Though encountering some Tyranid forces, they seem to view the payoff as worth the losses" The human replied.
"Well then.  You have fulfilled our use to us for now.  You may leave, and if we require anything more of you, we shall make contact as per the arrangement.  Leave now"
At this, the human turned and swiftly left the room.  At his departure, the guards relaxed a little.  Grayjaw looked back across the table at his opponent "You see what it's come to now.  This, this whole fiasco.  It does not bode well for us.  Age-old allies claiming both our extinction, and our homeworlds.  I have trouble seeing what good can be made of the situation"
The younger - maybe by as much as 50 years - Squat sitting opposite, with a shorter, still-brown beard, lifted his head up.  The precision bionic goggles he had fused to his head unnerved Grayjaw a little, but he was well aware the chief engineer needed them to do such great work as was needed of him.
However, the younger Squat was aware of Grayjaw's uneasiness over the goggles, so he lowered his gaze to look at the table again before answering "I'll grant that it's not an ideal situation.  In some ways, our struggle may be lessened if the Imperium were not so intent on ignoring us now.  But, this lie - whether intentional, or simply due to poor intelligence, can be of more immediate advantage to us than if the old relationship still existed.  For now, we can lay claim to planets without their direct interference.  Until they are are ready to admit their mistake, we should make the most of this situation."  The young Squat punctuated the end of his reply by moving one of his pieces on the chess board "And that, Grayjaw, is check mate, I believe"
Grimjaw stared down at the chess board "What? By Sanguinius' bones, you're right.  I shall mobilise our forces directly, for tomorrow, we start turning the tide of our fortune"

Just wanted to see all three Squat lists together at the top of the forum. Delusions of grandeur kind of thing.

Hi all

first very nice list even too powerfull :;): ?...

I still remember how my Noise Marines and CSM followers of Slaanesh died without suffering (pity for a Slaani) under the shot of a Rad Bomb ??

I don't play this army but built it for my little neighburs cause they begins to take interest in EA
well this post cause I took the list from the old forum and it was the 5.0 ...

So may I know what is the major modifications to the list from the 5.0 to the 5.1 and don't read it whole to compare  I know this is bad

I notice Bikers Guild no more a core choice ...
Now only one type of gyrocopter
Land Train at 350pts
but sure I miss something else :D

I think it would be nice to put all of them together into one PDF document so they can be read and seen as a whole.

Agreed. That would be very helpful.
