Guard are the best way to combat Eldar, Shadowswords, Deathstrikes & Vultures are constant worries for Eldar Titans.
So True
This happened last night in our games. That Eldar titan went running back to the farseer without a holofield, and many dissaponted guardsmen who had just reloaded their cell packs for a spate of target practice. Howe very unsportsmanlike of the eldar to run just before the real fun began...
I will not play eldar for a while as I believe they take a certain finesse to play effectively. I do not have this currently. It is a very good strategist and someone that understands risk and numbers very well that can make eldar work efficiently IMO. I would love to read a tactical write up on this force.
you don't need finesse, just 2 simple criteria: 1) only assault if you can smash the opponents into lots of little pieces with few losses 2) hit and run away every other time

Eldar are very fragile and that, along with the 2+ initiative, means you're likely to have several broken fms out of play by the end of the game, which loses you the activation advantage and tactical flexibility strengths of Eldar. Moving castles also help that, particularly against an assault heavy army like marines (that and running away, did I mention that?).
I'm still learning though, so none of that's gospel
