I've just looked back over the pages I've missed in the playtesters forum, and there has been a thread put up asking for an open day for the playtesters to get together.  Jervis has agreed that its a good idea, and penciled in the 30th March (I think it was).

With Lenton only about 1-1/2 away from me, i may try and gt there.  A room full of epic players is something not to be missed if at all possible.

Great. Let me know if the details for this change. I have added it to the EpiComms calendar! Oooohhhhh!

I have also started a thread in the Web Site board to explain about the calendar.

Let us know if you go.

Jervis has just stated that this day is now cancelled. But, he says that there will be an Epic day in May.

Thats actually a bit of a relief for me. I was going to struggle this weekend to get there. (Mothers day and all).

So although a bit of a wait, its better.

So, based on the comments in the obsolete models thread, has anyone taken a stab at SAG stats?

How about:

infantry, 15cm, 6+, 6+, 6+
SAG - 120cm range, 1BP, disrupt (no indirect fire)

Cost +50 as upgrade to Big Gunz, possibly 0-1 limitation.

I think the BP can represent snotlings coming out of various locations (orky technology is not necessarily consistent) and scrambling madly.  It also gives them a better chance to hit infantry than armor.  And obviously, disrupt is due to the fact that you still have to deal with the little buggers, even if all they are doing is chewing on your kneecap armor.

Of course, the BP becomes somewhat problematic if you are combining soopagunz BP with them...

It sounds okay.  I'd definantly have the disrupt ability.  What about the range?  120cm sounds very long.  Though I dont know what the previous incarnations stats were.

It used to be LoS, no limit.  I figured 120cm would be good enough.

No limit?  :o

How was it propelled before?  That sounds very advanced for the Orks.  Though, I gues they have their moments (telaportas).

Yes, I remember the LOS stat, and as you said Storm, it's a crude Teleporter ... What would Scotty say ?!   ???  :o

Hi, I don't really know much about the various histories of the Space Marines.  How can I find these out?  Is there anyone out there who can post a new subject on this site describing the history of each of the more established chapters?  I have an Ultra Marine army, and I think the idea of the White Scars is interesting because it is basically a light cavalry army for the future. The background to these armies is unknown to me. :p

Well, technically, the Scars are more a heavy cav unit, at least in 40k, and I'd think to a large extent in Epic. They charge things and kill them. Light cav would be more like Dark Angel Ravenwing or Eldar Saim-Hann, IMHO.
Anyhoo, I'll babble about short histories of the chapters if someone else doesn't soon, but I'm short on time at the moment.

The histories are scattered throughout the Codexs and W/D articles.  Getting a hold of the Codexs would be the short answer.

GW's Index Astartes books are also worth picking up if you can't get copies of the WDs the articles originally appeared in...

There's an ongoing collective net project called the "40K fluff bible."  The idea being to collect all the major pieces of fluff into one giant source.  I'm sure if you do a Google search on it, you'll turn up several copies.

I can't vouch for how much info from the individual marine chapters is in it, but it did have a bit of scarce titan legion info when I was compiling that list.

Also, I'm sure there are lots of fan sites out there that will include the official background for whatever chapter the site is dedicated to.
