OK, these problems are not getting better. I really appreciate your patience guys, and I just wanted to let you all know that I am not ignoring the problem.
I will be taking the baords off-line at some point next week (as soon as I can get away with doing it at work) and I will see if I can sort this out once and for all.
I will keep you informed.

Ohh, the bitter-sweet irony. I got three errors while trying to reply to this thread!
netepic suggested that it might be the way that the forums are stored, and so I will move the forums over to SQL. This should solve most of the problems, but if it doesnt then I will have to try something else. I will do this next week, and I will try to find a time when no-one is logged in, so I dont throw anyone out!

Well, I had a little time today, and so hit my PC a few times in an attempt that it would somehow make these boards better. Let me know if you guys notice any changes, and how often these errors keep popping up. Thanks guys.

...Hmm kinda not related, but still something you might be able to help with CS- When I signed in about 10 minutes ago or so, all topics in all forums appear to have new posts in them- even if I have looked at them weeks ago.....
-Very odd....

Clear your cookies, that should work. Sounds like one of them got corrupted.

I just found something. I'm not sure if its supposed to be there, or I only just noticed it, but at the bottom of a thread I stared, I had the option to close or delete the thread! Should this happen?
Cheers
Chris

OK, the messing around that I did with these boards involved backing the entire board up, changing the way in which all the posts and files are stored, and then uploading the lot again.
stormseer - this feature may be because the posts are all, technically, new as they were just uploaded. This should not happen any more, just the once after the changes. If it does, then let me know and we will see what we can do sort it out.
Chris - thanks. With the changes, I had to redo the permissions for each member group. I have now changed this. If there are any other differences to the previous boards a few days ago, please let me know.
Also, are people still getting loads/any errors? I have not had any for a while, but I dont know if it is just me. Let me know if it is bad/better/the same. Thanks guys.

Hi!
I get a sort of odd error, when I go to the forums I get an error that tells me "files are missing" and I dont get to see the forum lists. BUT if I log off, I seem to STILL be logged on, but now I see all the forums. Odd.

Is anyone else having this error? If not, it is probably your PC. If it happens to at least one other member, I will have a think about it. Anyone else?

Righty.. just got back from visiting family for a few days, so.....
-I still see all forums with all new posts in their topics, apart from the ones that are actually new that I have looked in.....
-Otherwise, the forum is fine, and I havn't noticed any errors or slowdowns at all while I have been on....
