Well, the contest is over and the votes are counted. I dont think that I have ever seen a competition of this type be this close.
Compiling the results from the BFG Yahoo Group and the EpiComms forums gives the result that both the Venerable Battle Barge from Frank Wesner, and the Imperial Dreadnought from Warmaster Nice got the same number of votes! So, I had to look at the individual heat categories to find that Frank got 14 votes in his heat compared to 10 for Warmaster Nice. This means that Franks excellent Battle Barge, Righteous Purity, is the overall winner of GothiComp 2005. Frank, I will contact you soon to arrange your prize. An honourable mention must go to Warmaster Nice for a well fought final, and to all those who made it to the final. Well done.
Thanks to all who made this possible. The winner of the conversion aspect of the competition will be revealed soon. For all those who wanted to get their submissions in, but were beaten by time... next year?

hi Kassad, and welcome. Congrats are due to loads of people, in fact, there were some terrific models there. I don't know Mr. Wesner, but congrats are certainly due - his work is inspiring. And our very own Warmaster Nice, who gave him a very tough win, desrves equal applause; as does CS, of course, for getting it to work! Do you work in Epic stuff too, Kassad, or just BFG? And - which fleets? I'm currently working (well, more or less) on a few more models for my very small Imperial - well, Force W - it's too small to call a fleet! Cheers, john a.k.a. Vanvlak

Hi Vanvlak. For BFG i' ve got a Ork fleet and some Imperial ships. I work epic models too, I painted lots of them. For Epic game (I played epic sistems since the first Space Marines "Horus Heresy" until EpicA) I've got a SM Ultramarines army and ever loved Orkz army. I've just start to paint a feral orkz army now. I try to post some pics in future. Cheers by Claudio aka "Kassad".

And yes please, pics would be most welcome!

Hi. After a bit of discussion, the voting panel (myself, Ray and BobH) have nominated Rodrigo Barbera as the winner of the conversion category of the 2005 Battlefleet Gothic Painting Competition, with his incredible Endeavours. We need to keep reminding ourselves that these are not bought and GW produced miniatures.
Well done to all and thanks for the fantastic competition.
