Saw it today (before it opened where most of you live - an advantage of being at GMT +10 hrs!) - you wont be dissappointed

It ROCKED! :D

Lots of great early Imperial designs and I'm slathering at the thought of all the cool micromachiens that will soon be in my Epic Armies! :p

Amen.

One of my mates who's enough of a fan or the originals to have Mandalorian tattoos said:

"Yes it's good, probably even general public good. No, it's not perfect, there are moments of truly woeful dialogue, stilted acting and pretty crappy editing. Sometimes things seem to happen for no apparent reason other than to look good (which they invariably do.)When it comes together though there are some truly awesome moments, like almost Original Trilogy awesome. Maybe.

That all said it's a totally popcorn-tastic flick, unlikely to change lives other than for those whose lives have already beeen changed by Star Wars, obviously.

And god help those poor buggers, eh? :)"

Me, I'm more likely to go see Hitchhikers in the near future.

I hate crowding too, but the theatre wasnt too full at lunchtime (I took the day off) and now I have seen all 6 at the movies on the day they came out (my dad took me to the first 2).

I have a feeling that "The Empire Strikes Back" is still the best episode of the series.  }:)

That was my favourite too!!
I liked the fact that "Empire" ended darkly with no Hollywood happy ending. I also loved the Hoth sequences and the fact that you got to see multiple Star Destroyers. Plus our first glimpse of Yoda. And I still remember the shock I felt when Vader reveals he was Luke's father- I had n't seen that one coming.

As many of you have n't seen "Revenge" yet I won't say anything more other than it restored my faith in George. He came good in the end. There was some great space & land battles. Awesome lightsaber fighting. And there was some nice segues into Episode IV.

May the force be with you!

James

Ah well worth seeing, I would like more time spent on battles (of course), and perhaps surprisingly I would have liked more time on the psychology of Anakin turning, but hey there is a lot of movie to fit into two hours! :) ?The ?Padme/Anakin dialogue is probably the weakest feature, but it does the job.

After what happens in the Anakin/Kenobi fight, I'm now slightly concerned about what the reaction of my 8 year old will be tomorrow morning... hopefully she will make it through... :O

I might post more detailed comments later but I don't want to spoil it for anyone (even though we all know what happens before we see it of course!).

I am waiting for it to be released on rental video for 2 pounds on the local videoclub. After episodes 1 and 2 (who the hell believes that anakin is not a psychothic serial killer and instead will turn into a perfectly balanced character? Seriously. And I am refering to him when he is in class) I think I will enjoy myself with a pizza at home. Money much better spent. It is simply so far away from the first series that it is not worth looking at anything bigger than a 22" screen. YMMV.

Regards,

Xavi

We're going to see it Sat. night ... I wanted to wait a week or two, but my buddies are hot on it ... I'm afraid it might be quite "challenging" ... I don't like crowds ...

You'll be right matey - a few beers and a good feed before hand, talk it up, an armload of junk food and be at one with the force!

I guess I couldn't agree more with Markconz - I had exactly the same thoughts.
We eventually decided to go yesterday, and the cinema turned out to be far from full. I guess the Force isn't strong enough here.... :p A bit more time on the 'conversion' of Anakin would have helped. But it was all good fun, anyway; a bit harsh at times, a bit sad at others. As expected.

AND I have an all new favourite - and no, it isn't Grievious. It's Kenobi's new friend. :D
