Vague or not, I think I'll pass this set.
As for Warhammer, I don't like the rules but for some reason I love the armies.
If somebody asked me to recommend a set of fantasy rules nowadays my suggestions would be Armies of Arcana (for high fantasy style), Maelstrome (for more historical style) and Vis Magica (for larger battles and even more historical style).
For the napoleonically inclined there's Slaughterloo...

Yep. AoA is certainly my favorite. Plus the "mighty empires" for AoA, Empires of Arcana, was finally published.
