Actually most of the tanks for this force are in already painted.

Imperial Guard Gallery - the green ones.

I am currently painting a few of my older Imperial Guard miniatures, hence the new diary and as I am painting quite a few I will not clog up the other large what are you working on thread.

This Hellhound was undercoated white, before being given a green base coat and other details added with Bestial Brown and Camo Green.

It need a wash, drybrush and detailing.

This sort of thread makes me think that I should get on with my stuff - then I realise I can't see my desk for WIP stuff.....

This is a conversion I did some time ago for an Imperial Guard Recovery Tank.

It starts off as a Basilisk (from the Space Marine era), some green stuff, a dozer blade and a Gutrippa arm.

On a number of the E-40K AFVs there are "tarps" spread over top, like on that H/H's fuel cannister.

I thought they looked like what the US Forces call VS-17 panels. These are placed on top of vehicles or ground positions to mark them for friendly aircraft. So they don't become targets! :o ?

One side of the panel is hot pink and one hot orange. So I painted mine hot orange! A little color on my tactically painted vehicles that has a real use! :;):

Nice idea L4 - Adding FF prevention panels to my imperial guard would certainly brighten them up a bit, where's my old pot of Citadel Titillating Pink? :D

Well most of our AFVs had them or were readily available! ?

And yes, they were/are hot pink on one side and hot orange on the other. In the 101 we used VS-17s to mark LZ/PZs. Very bright and non-tactical! ?

If you watched the news during the 21 Days to Baghdad, you would see these panels taped or tied to the tops of Coalition vehicles. They still work and they still use them! ?

You won't see them much now as the "blitzkrieg" phase is long over. But on occasions, like possibly at Fallujah. ?

"Friendly fire ain't friendly!"
