Hi L-4,

I'm interested in the other items you proposed.

Send me a PM. I'll help either way.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Whe-ell. To6G is DONE at last! To celebrate, I worked on:
- a Warlord conversion
- a pair of Landraider conversions
- a Defiler conversion.
The Land Raiders are almost normal looking. The Defiler looks ok.... compared to the Tzeentchian Hula Dancer ?:p

Hey all -

HiveFleet Typhon is finally showing some progress! ?:D

My first batch of 'Nid infantry (6 sprues' worth) is now fully painted
and flocked, just waiting for the weather to dry out so I can safely
seal them.

They were all in this stage yesterday morning...

Late afternoon yesterday, they all looked like this...

This morning I applied layers of turf flock and then splotches of grass flock over that...

The color-scheme is pretty basic - I didn't want them to look too ?'cartoony' so
they're in somewhat natural browns with white on the obvious
talons & teeth, and deep purple for the fleshy weapons and what-not.
Given they're tiny infantry, they're getting very little detailing -
the bigger minis will get more detailing.

But before I seal them, I'm having last-minute doubts about whether I should hit
the carapace areas with a drybrushing of some contrasting color, just to help define
their form (and give some more visual contrast). Thoughts? Suggestions?
Do folks think that these little guys need another color on their carapace?

More updates soon (I hope!!)

Oh yeah - mucho praise to Maksim for his work on the new 'Nids Army-List!
It's the reason that I'm assembling a nid force!!

Larry

They look great! If you have time maybe do the the carapace on gaunts, lictors and warriors a contrasting colour - bleached bone would work well:

Great work Larry..  :)
I think a contrasting colour for the carapace would look great; maybe a red, pale green or bone as Markconz suggests?

Guys -

Yeah... I've gotta agree - BleachedBone sounds like a good choice - some contrast
but not an extreme color.

Oh, and Markonz - your Epic Nids page is one of the Epic pages that
I open daily for inspiration! Great stuff, man!!

Thanks for the feedback!
Larry

Maksim and Primarch ... sent as requested ! :;):  Completed Angor Wat ruins and GZG Mushrooms, still working on Grendel obelisk, may put some Eldar Egyptian-like transfers on it. And then on to the Grendel Mushrooms and I still have to do my E40K Stalingrad ruins !   :D  Reorganized my display cases and storage in the War Room with the new terrain additions today too ! :)

Lovely nids Larry!

I've just finished painting Typhus. Unfortunately I screwed up a bit as I was trying to place him on one of the old square stands. I accidentially broke of his horn. The glue has distorted the face slightly but not much so I'm not sure I want to touch it up right now.

Cheers! :)

Nice nids Larry.

Look forward to see how you get on with bleached bone on carapace.

And I'll have to add Markconz nids page to my list of Epic favourites!!

Cheers

James
