I'm looking for ideas as to how to go about converting some Terminator heavy weapons for a detachment I'm putting together. Any suggestions / advice / links to pictures of conversions would be much appreciated!
I'd quite like to represent all three possible weapon systems if I could (though probably will mostly model Assault Cannons):
*Cyclones: I'm thinking these could probably be made of two sections of square or rectangular plastic rod (possibly glued straight onto the shoulders or else onto a thin strip on plasticard above them), with tiny dots to represent missiles painted on. With the new W40k Terminators dropping the aiming device and letting a Cyclone Terminator use a Power Fist the conversion will be even easier than it used to be. What size plastic rods should I use though? I've got a model catalogue that offers a good selection (Squires Model & Craft Tools), but I don't quite know which size to order...
*Heavy Flamer: You seem to get a spare heavy flamer in the Land Speeder blister pack so that'll be an easy conversion.
*Assault Cannons: Should I just use a piece of circular or hexagonal plastic rod to represent the Assault Cannon? Or could I actually glue 7 sections of very thin plastic rod together (I'd be thinking something like 0.25mm rod, 0.38mm or 0.5mm) and use that? Would be rather fiddly at that scale and I'm not sure if the glue/poly-cement might not obscure the detail anyway, but it might be worth a try. Alternatively are there any parts of other models I could use to convert them?...
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Glynn,
A lot of people use old plastic Dreadnought weapons for Termie assault cannons.

Hi!
I suspect some of those pieces would make good epic titan weapons too.

Decided I am going to scratch build the weapons myself, even if it will be a bit tricky. Probably have to roughly guess the sizes of plasticard I need and order a selection.
My inspiration for the conversions has been Bobby Wong's very nicely done Ultramarine Terminators, see here: http://miniature-art.tripod.com/epic40k....d4.html
