The results of the exams for Polish language are in... guess what, the moronic loser here (speaking of myself) managed to score highest in the class, if not in the school!

Nice one WMN - as usual!

I was amazed at just how simple the BFG scenery was to make once I actually got my butt into gear.  In addition to planets etc I also wanted a sun- but suns are like REALLY big yeah?  Solution: I did a paper mache (kids had lots of fun helping with that!), then cut it in half, so the sun "cuts the ecplitic of the table" so to speak.  Came out quite well without having a basketball sitting on the table overshadowing everything else

cheers!

I've been kept busy with family & festivities in recent weeks, but things are finally calming down & I'm beginning to get back into the swing of painting, not to mention getting back online!

Whilst it does mean a lot of work when hosting Christmas celebrations, one of the good things abouthaving a large family is the large pile of lead you find yourself with when all themayhem is over :p

In recent months I've been concentrating on my Flames of war 15mm WWII Soviet forces & gaming with them atmy local club. The Bounty of Xmas brough forth enough infantry for me to field my army as a Motorised army ?(Motostrelkovaya Bataljon) rather than the tank force I've used to date. Or simply play some really big games of course...

Painting has begun, so far withthe post - christmas tally looking something like this:
T34-85 wreck complete (objective / scenic)
second platoon of infantry 80% complete
4 AT guns 90% complete, but 2 rifle teamsneeded to complete the formations.
3 light mortar teams 90% complete
4 BA-10 Armoured cars complete, but need 1 crewman for command vehicle.
5 Tankodeseantniki (tank riders) teams complete
4 stands of Rifle/MG 15% complete to upgrade to two Motorised platoons to full strength infantry platoons if needed.

Still a few hundred infantry to go though! The bare metal weighs in at:
Full HMG company of 3 platoons 0% complete
Infantry Compnay of 2 Platoons 0% complete
Company / brigade command platoons 20% complete.
Vehicle crews - approx 18 pieces still to do.
German wrecks (scenics & objectives)- 1 Halftrack, 1 PzIV, 1 Tiger 0% complete.

I also decided I should start theyear with a website thats at least vaguely up to date, so I'm spending today giving my site a much needed overhaul, which should include:
a Full warmaster lizardmen army.
Yet Another Full Epic IG army.
New Blood Bowl Dark Elf Characters as featured in FM7
28mm Ultramodern Delta Force team from TAG
28mm "Nordvolk" villagers from West WindProductions
28mm Space Dwarves from Hasslefree
40K Khorne Army from Esrik
complete 40K section for Ross
complete warhammer section from Ross
Making Logan MkII article (as seen in Incoming!)
& Finally, of course, an update to my FoW WWII pages.

Right then.... Back to the brushes & HTML!

Back to the brushes & HTML!

I can only second that... though I'd add also "sculpting tools and green stuff" to that.

I'm going to organize a meeting with my photographer soon, so the gallery on the site will be back up to date. Just wait till you see the Phoenix Hawk!

Thanks guys.
Well today have turned out to be quite the BFG day for me. I've been drybrushing a few more Chaos ships and started detailing my Planet Killer and the Dreadnought.

I've also been working some more on my Battlecruisers. These are made from various bits of leftover BFG parts on a balsawood frame. Basically I wanted my BCs to look a bit fatter (I'm not fat, I'm big bones! ?:p ) than regular cruisers of the line.
Some of the ships look a bit "Chaosy". That's because Battlefleet Skagerak is one of the oldest fleets in the Imperium and acts as sort of a mothbag for old Imperial ship designs. It's Mars and Overlord Battlecruisers are some of the earliest ships which bore that designation.
There's still some detailing to do but you get the general idea.

Cheers!  :)

I have actually being doing quite a bit of painting and modelling, and my two year old son has been helping.

Did some basing today, nice and messy with glue and sand!

Also undercoated a few models as well.

Here is a picture from a recent game of mine.

As usual, there is more news and pictures on the blog.

Me, I'm working on:

Iron Warriors for 40k. 20 marines and a Rhino are done, just 27 marines (inc Terminators and Oblits), 5 tanks and a Dread to paint. The Land Raider needs more conversion work (it's being turretted), the Dread needs more armour, and the Basilisk I think will need at least a little work to make it spiky. (This isn't a pastry-chef army, btw, the 5 tanks are a Pred, Land Raider, Rhino, Vindicator and Basilisk, and there's just 3 Oblits).

Just started on my Eldar BFG fleet for Tale of 4+ Gamers with the Nightshade and Hemlock squadrons.

And I'm being threatened with a Necromunda campaign, so have dug out the old Escher gang, and am considering how to paint them...

In the real(ish) world, I'm working on learning to drive, playing Far Cry, Dawn of War and MoH: Pacific Assault, and learning Mantis Kung Fu and generic Kickboxing.

And once I get my finger out, there will be some pics of the Eldar-in-progress and some decent pics of the Irons (than these (that Rhino on top in the army pics is being turned into a turret, and the terminator isn't finished)).

I have played Call of Duty lately to get a break from painting and to rekindle my interest in painting. CoD is quite nice entertainment but has some rather annoying features (a "force field" which prevents you from crawling under a truck, tank traps stopping infantry (they must have the force field too), when firing with a LATW you have to hit exactly the right place within a pixel's marigin (it seems) and so on. I wonder when they make a Finnish campaign.  :)

And Pit Fiend, that's a nasty heretic infestation you've got in that folder. I see an Inquisitorial purge is long overdue.  :p

So far so good. Stripped the other half-painted Battle Sister back to metal. Will file out the inside of robes (yeah, it is hard, but makes the mini look much more realistic).

Went back to the old RevEdit (the editor for Crescent Hawks Revenge that I have mentioned here in May last year), done some minor fixes and finishing touches.

Getting through Act 3 of Bloodrayne in the Iron Man style. So far so good.

Modified lyrics from Hammerfall's "Destined for Glory":

Once upon a time in a forlorn land,
A man on a mission was left at fates hand
In his eyes you could see the whites turn red
Surrounded by evil, abandoned for dead

Burdened by word and shattered sword,
Power-armored warrior, the chosen one
His name's been cursed, he is bound to fail
A wandering spirit with the will to prevail

By the broken sword,
he swore an oath
to return the Lord
back unto this world

Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall

He still can recall the Lion's words
"Don't loose your faith, let your voice be heard"
Echoes from the past will lead him on
By these words of honor, shine like the sun

By the broken sword,
he swore an oath
to return the Lord
back unto this world

Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without soul and you will loose it all

The prophecies spoke of a robed man
skilled with guns, clad in ceramite

Normally hooded from mortal eyes
His head arose with a determined force
With a gaze that turned everyone into stone
The Cypher spoke, "I am the one"

Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without soul and you will loose it all

Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without soul and you will loose it all

Need to get a break from computers soon. My eyes are getting bloodshot.

Hi,

Finally finished organising all of my bitz boxes and old stuff into various heaps/boxes this morning, and I've just this minute finished adding the final drybrush to my Imperial BFG ships. Shall be adding the prow colours and details later and hopefully have pics up by tomorrow.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

"I've recently started work on a large army of Brets for WHFB on Commission. I'm really happy with the start of the Pilgrims, so thought I'd post a WIP picture of a commissioned unit for once :D

They're looking pretty cool, Tuffskull. Is it just me, though, or does that guy third from left in the front look like he'll be a pain to rank up?
