Today we have a couple of new pieces of equipment for the Imperial Guard available to pre-order as well as a new Warhammer bust.

Released week commencing Monday November 29th, Daren Parrwood has completed a new design of the Griffon Heavy Mortar Carrier. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/griffon.htm This, the Vanaheim pattern variant, is similar in construction to other light armoured vehicles produced on this forge world, such as the Salamander Command and Scout. It has sloping armour, semi-enclosing the fighting compartment and a detailed interior. This includes 12 mortar shells of various types which can be stuck into the ammo racks, a mast mounted periscope and the huge breech loading mortar itself.

Big guns have long been a passion of mine, (I have a railway gun behind my desk, no, really!) so this great new Griffon may well force me to expand my new Imperial Guard ?Combat Patrol/40K in 40 minutes? force into something a little larger.

Daren has also recently finished work on an Imperial Mine Plough http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/mineplough.htm The Mine Plough features four magazine fed grenade launchers mounted on the frame. These are used to try to clear as many mines and booby traps from in front of the vehicle before using the plough to finish sweeping a clear path through the suspect area. The plough itself is designed to move mines out of the way, also deflecting the blast of any explosions away from the vehicle which is a feature I really like. The Imperial Mine Plough is a substantial piece of kit and will mount on any Imperial Chimera or Leman Russ based vehicle. (I personally love the look of it mounted on the Atlas Recovery vehicle. Might have to add one of those to the army too?)
The Imperial Mine Plough is available to pre-order right now for release week commencing Monday November 29th.

Also available to pre-order from today, a bust of a noble Bretonnian Knight straight from the workbench of Sean Green. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/bretonnian.htm Covered in chain mail and carrying a battered shield for protection, he is armed with a rather ferocious moustache! To give you a better idea of the size of this model, the bust measures about 3.5 inches/85mm tall.

All three of these models are available to pre-order for release week commencing Monday November 29th over the phone on +44 115 916 8177, or via the Forge World online store at http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html

This weekend, the 20th and 21st, Forge World will be in Telford for one of the largest plastic model shows in the world, Scale Modelworld 2004. http://www.ipms-uk.co.uk/scalemodelworld/index.htm We will be there with a large display of our newest and best models, a whole pile of stock for sale and of course we will have our huge 1/6th scale radio controlled Baneblade lurking next to our stand. If you like making resin, plastic or metal models from any era, universe or scale then I have to recommend coming along this weekend.
If you are coming along to Scale Modelworld 2004 and want to collect an order or reservation there please just give us a call on 0115 916 8177.

Something you may not have noticed before on our website next. At each Games Day Forge World goes to all round the world we award a Best of Show award for a Forge World model entered into either the 40K vehicle or Warhammer Monster categories. We?ve been doing this for just over a year now and if you want to take a look at the models which caught our judges? eyes click here, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/shows.htm

For details of our last order dates for delivery before Christmas please read the notes on this page, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/xmasshipping.htm
That?s all for this issue and I look forward to talking to you again soon.
Thx,

Ewen Little,
Forge World.

Oh boy, more Guard! ???

Do not get me wrong, I love Guard. I am just thinking that if FW wants to keep their cutting edge feel, they need to move beyond the "Hay let's do another new version of an existing Guard Tank".

There is the whole host of Necrons, Eldar, Ork, Bugs, and other such background to explore.

Just thought I should add one more comment to be clear.

I think the griffon is a nice looking mini, I would just have rather saw a new Necron unit or some other such thing. :;):

Epic Necrons or Sisters come to mind. :p
