He was one of historys last action hero's...
Personally I think Colin Farrell is a good choice - he should be fairly beef cakeish just think that adding the love story was as ridulous as when I learned that the Americans were the ones to first crack the enigma code and steal the machine.

I agree totally Maksim! ?
In our Epic Universe, in our minds, the troops are more like, Hammers Slammers, Dirtside, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.
The G/W Fluff in my opinion is mostly "junk!" Some of the stuff is cool, but a lot of it is just plain stupid!

I don't imagine that the GW universe has any "documentaries" (the kind with almost no facts) like Michael Moore (MM) puts out. He'd be rotting in an Imperial dungeon somewhere with Inquisitors working him over for "entertainment."
Thank goodness that our real universe is less dark!
Although, I wouldn't mind seeing Michael Moore get a little "poetic justice" (I'd like to see him go live in one of the "people's paradises" that he considers superior to the USA... North Korea for MM, anyone?).
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I am too much of a cynic to believe MM is doing what he did for any reason other than for personal gain. I have not seen many people in today?s political landscape that I felt I could ?believe in.?
For me, MM just saw a way to make a buck and he did it. But I see that kind of thing on all fronts in the political world right now. It has become who can benefit their friends the best. And note that this is true, from my point of view, about all of the parties and groups.

But to take this back on Topic...
Regardless of the issues with the fluff, I still love the visual of that group of marines fighting the overwhelming hordes of Chaos/Orks/Bugs and making the last stand together.
Great imagery.

The darkness and gothic background of the 40k universe is what makes it stand out for me- sure, some background may be illogical (strange that ), but it makes it interesting and unusual in a way that Startrek isn't (all imho of course... ).

I still can't get over the amazing morphing Whirlwind. When released in WH40K a few years back it was a short range fire support weapon, then all of a sudden... it's in Epic 40K as an artillery piece and there's no ammo limit.
Just thought I'd also mention that there are supposedly codex and non-codex chapters (Space Wolves) which told the Imperium where to shove the4 codex.
And don't get me started on Star Trek's representation of planetary warfare! One phaser shot from each man every 5-10 seconds makes the Federation's weapons less effective than modern rifles against infantry! Their only use would be as anti-armour weapons.

Well as soon as you mention 40K any dicussion is null and void. 40K rules have always been the worst! ?
In Epic the Whirlwind is the only SM FA. We still use Thud Guns and Mortars too, but still the SMs lack much FA.
And the IG have too much! But that is the "flavor" of the armies. ?
As far as Star Trek, my point is, that it has a more futuristic feel than 40K.
Epic is a high tech version of W.W.II, I have said this before. And I like that "feel." However, much of the other "fluff" for me is silly IMO.
And really has nothing to do with Epic game play. IG, SMs, Hammer's Slammers, Klingons... if you play "maneuver warfare," (and we do), it's all just a mind set.

I know Jervis has said it was WWII, but I am with Jimbo. It feels more like WWI to me. Low air support, Trench Warfare. Lots of Line up and charge the enemy.
WWI is what it feels like to me.

And Titans, big, lumbering gun platforms, seem to fit in the WW1 scheme of things too, even though they never made it there.
