Chubbybob, I've heard legends about this - and it's incredible. How long did it take (gasp) to do all THAT?

So no one here has any large collections of BFG?

I don't know if my collection is "Primarch-load" sized, but I have around 9000 points of BFG (2x 4500 point fleets).

Now I just have to get around to painting the things :D

I never really considered BFG expensive (when it was still selling in Oz, the cost of a BFG fleet was comparable to an Epic 40K Army), and its certainly much cheaper than a WH40K army.

Just don't look at the Tau fleet :p (for some strange reason SG decided to make the Tau crusier models massive and cost twice as much as all the other metal cruisers :( )

I have about 5000pts of my Imperial fleet (all painted as well), and 2000pts, maybe more, of Chaos (unpainted as yet)...

Hi Bob

Nice to see you on Epic Comms.
I think you must definitely qualify for a 'primarchload' of BFG!

Cheers

James

What qualifies as a primarchload again? Was it 20,000 points?
???
If so then I just fall short with 6,000 points Chaos, 6,000 points of Imperial Navy, 4,000 points SM and 2,000 points Eldar.

Little of it is painted though...

Cheers

James

Well , I have been building and converting imperial ships almost since the month that BFG was first released. (can't remember how long that is) I would guess that from start to finish I can spend an average of 8-10 hours on a ship including painting and converting. Scratchbuilds anything upto 40 hours. As to points , I have no idea how much as I am a solo gamer and play a WYSIWYG campaign so points are irrelevant to me. However I do have 21 Lunars now so that alone is 4000 points . At a rough guess I suppose the fleet is around 30,000 points ?but it may be quite a bit more. Not sure!! This does of course only include the fully painted stuff. The spare box has a large amount of gear as well

BTW I also have disgracefully large amounts of 6mm scifi (epic etc.) land forces to support the fleets.

lots of pics etc in "unit organisation"

I love your Epic stuff as well Bob. -I must admit that I've stolen quite a few of your ideas to use myself like the Destroyer Tank Hunter. Very cool and original.

Cheers! :)

I've been assembeling some of the reinforcemments I bought for my imperial and Chaos fleets. I don't know if it qualifies as a Primarchload but it's close enough for me :D

BTW the Chaos fleet will recieve even more ships: As you might be able to make out in the pic, the Despoiler battleship is missing an aerial. When I notified the trolls they offered to send me an entire new ship. Also a cruiser was miscast to they're sending me not only a box to replace it, but an extra box to compensate for the waiting time! :;):  GW Quality control may suck, but their Customer service certainly don't! The extra cruisers will probably be made into Murders and Slaughters and possibly a Daemonship. I was thinking of building "Kustom" Battleship from one of the Despoilers.

Cheers!

Hehe, Only a few minor engagements to learn the rules. I've never tried out all the ships at once.
Then again I'm still more of a painter/collector than a die hard gamer so I don't expect to average more than a single game a month at the most. ???
The main attraction has allways been the TO&E and to actually to build the stuff so that it looked good. The gaming part has allways been secondary (but still lots of fun!)

Cheers! :)
