MOOII is a godly game... but man... Rome: Total war is godly..... oh yeah...
Although still smarting from when my legions marched against the gauls to find that the reinforcements were too late to join in, then fought (and won) against 3 times the numbers of Gauls. Took plenty of losses tho :S.

Re; FW... Overall I was very pleased with what I got- nothing broken, and all boxed nicely- not just bagged like last year- the Baneblades and Warhounds had quite a lot of flash, but it was where you'd have expected it, and relatively easy to remove. Most of my other tanks look exceptionally well cast.... apart from of course, the Hydras and Destroyers!
The Hydras had tons of waste resin under the engine sections, which has messed up the detail horribly... The Destroyers were really bad, easily the worst models I've had from FW- the guns were cast in a different resin, and look perfect- however, the hulls are in dark grey resin, really greasy and the details on the track sides are poorly formed.. maybe I'll try converting them with camo nets of something....
Oh, and annoyingly, when vacuming all the resin flakes and mess from my desk after cleaning all the flash off these models, I removed all the models, but forgot the little searchlights from the Baneblades.... now, shall I search the bag for them... or not?

Yep, there's no other way. I once went through the bag foor a missing converted Grey Knight Terminator. It took me half an hour and lots of dust in the lungs only to discover that the mini wasn't there I still haven't found it BTW ... maybe the cat ate it:(
Cheers!

Its a shame about the Hydras, I have only just primed mine this evening and they had nothing. Its a shame things like that happen, last time that happened to me was some barracudas which has the surface of the whole set rather rough and bitty.. I couldnt sand it down at all and the paint job doesnt hide it when you pick them up to look.
I am currently painting up 3 hydras, 10 teminator grey knights, 20 odd power armour grey knights and 3 orcas... I couldnt wait to get out from work to start painting!

Quote (Freshmetal @ 06 2004 Oct.,06:48) | Well thanks to a fall down some stairs today, I'm now sat with a swollen and painful ankle which should see old Freshmetal out of commission for a few days (No crying please. I'm a trooper, I'll pull through. *ouch*). | Ouch, sounds like something that should be avoided in the future.
As you say though, the silver lining is you will get some paint time in.

I finished for the moment, cleaned up. Used the Dust buster and then remembered the parts.
Spent about five minutes going through the small dust bag, found all but one. Gave up. Tossed the bag and moved on.
Feel for you though.

I didnt want to try the saying Tony Cottrell used...
'Honey I slept with your sister.... oh by the way I bought half of Forgeworld'! ? | Tony's comment was mint....thought he was refering to the nice new Fortress walls they have made...but I guess it works with half of Forgeworld as well!

Hi,
I'm glad I didn't go to GD, with my shortage of funds I think it could've been disasterous. :/
My ankle is feeling a bit better now btw. The ice is helping, although that could be because it's in a large glass of whisky. I've managed to undercoat and basecoat a whole heap of Orks, and built a small building similar to the fortifications in the Epic Battles book. Waiting for the undercoat to dry on it as I type. Hopefully shall have it finished tonight.
Cheers, Freshmetal
