As for the Warp Gate, even if a similar one is available it is often best to avoid URLs that could be confused, unless that is your specific aim. I would like to know who my neighbours are. Last time I did this, I ended up with a site as a neighbour which was a real pain... kept stealing my visitors... 
And, speaking as someone who has a load of domains that he doesnt use (I have over 20 right now), some are used simply for the email extensions, and some just to collect. (There is a continuous voice in my head stating that buying web real estate will be an investment when you have a domain that someone will pay big money for...)
