Damn, Sorry to hear that BS.

So, guys, we've lost our link!
2pm in the Foyer remains, I'll be the short one with a Green bag and GW carry case :blues:

I dont know if any of you know each otherbut I for one am none the wiser on who to look out for.

If any of you would rather, drop me an email and I can give you my mobile #. Or I could resort to the Epic40k.com T-shirt - then you'd just have to look for the guy cowering in the corner in humiliation!

As mentioned, I will have a carry case with me. At the moment there's relatively little planed to be in it. if anyone wants me to bring up anything in particular that you've seenon the site, let me know and I'll try and find it. I've already had a request from another friend to see some of my epic Tau so I'll have some of those.

Hi,

Paul, dont think there should be a problem there, I will be around with my girlfriend and we will look out for you.

I for one will be looking forward to seeing the Tau as well, as I am building my army too for a clash against Tom.

Anyway I will see you tomorrow.... I have to catch a flight

Doug

Loads!  :D

It was a good day, and great to meet Tuff and Darkone. I have added pictures of the stuff here:

Salute 2003

I have also heard a few rumours from someone else who was there.

I did hear that the new metals are not going to replace all of the plastics, just the 'specialist troops'! Also look out for the Ork orbital lander and submersible war engine (apparently mentioned in the Armageddon fluff).

Any comments or questions?

I was under the impression that almost all the SM plastic vehicles would be replaced by metals in the image of new 40K models. So does that mean standard troopers will still be produced in plastic ?  If that rumor is true that would be quite a change, based on everything that we've been lead to believe ?! ???  And I remember the "fluff" about the Ork Lander & "Sub" ... I look forward to those !!! :)

Whats this about "specialist troops"? Does that mean plastics will still be avaliable?

Also, does anyone know if the current SM metal tanks will still be avaliable?

And what counts as specialist?

I like the landspeeder and rhino, but no Land Raider? I was looking forward to that.

Is there any more news on Epic:A or BFG that hasn't been told yet either?

Sorry about all the questions, I'm just a curious little gamer

Cheers

Chris

PS, I don't like the Tau "Hero" cruiser - Bit too like an old Space Fleet model

Well, the note that I got said that the metals would only replace the specialist troops such as Terminators and Assault Marines. I guess that means that pretty much only Tactial squads could be considered plastic. This would make sense as GW would sell a lot more of these, and they may be worth the initially higher outlay of a plastic mould system. But, this is all just rumour right now.

Apparently the Land raider was off in Poland last weekend!  :(

I will keep an eye and an ear out for any more news.

Nice one Tom! :D  The whole Specialist thing basically took what we could have expected from Epic:A for models and changed it all!!!

I think its so we have no idea what's going on by the time it comes out - adds to the suprise :-:

Cheers

Chris

Weird one this. I didnt hear anything regarding it, but then I didnt have time to ask much this time around ?:(

The only things I did hear were:
1) All left over epic in the UK after the March clearance has been destroyed. I learnt this after talking about painting for fanatic and them explaining how MO's only just managed to come up with Fanatic's own order after they "put it somewhere safe" before the rest was melted. This would appear to be contradictory to the rumour that plastics will remain but I'll not risk saying for sure either way since I simply dont know! I'm still WAY out of the loop on most things - sorry :{
2)The Epic:Armageddon Release schedule has been changed. It will now be main game (Orks, IG, SM) followed 8 months (!!) later by Eldar and Nids, followed 6 months later by Chaos. Apparently this is due to 'Nids being redone around that time so they're coinciding it with the Epic release. Still weird though, since they've already got the models for chaos...... ????

Sorry for the slack reporting this time around, most of the day was spent on official duty for my own project. That and chatting with Doug & Iain of course ?:blues:
