Agreed about the timing. I wonder, if Legions Imperialis turns out to be a bloated stinker of a ruleset, perhaps the new Warpath ones might offer a nice and clean alternative?

Warpath would benefit from focussing on aliens as Legions Imperialis is about humans, loyal against traitor .

Warpath universe has way fewer races playable than 40k.

They didn't state the size of the models at all. Just mentioned it to be Epic scale and showed a couple of models, so I don't see where the 12mm-ish assumption comes from.

In either case, I'd prefer them to come up with a totally different ruleset instead of doing an evolution of Epic SM2/TL. The D8 idea is fine, the command points idea is nice as well, but reading through the rules I still see a turn structure that doesn't look interesting, tbh.

I have read a few conflicting comments on what the scale will be, so perhaps need some more news or a confirmation in that regard.

Also Warpath does have fewer playable alien races, but we have had it confirmed (several times) that the new Legions Imperialis will be Heresy-only (no aliens) so at least it might present a good alternative, even if only 3 or 4 of them get released.

Did anyone else back this? We should see our models shipping in the next few weeks.

I almost did.... but didnt in the end. I decided to wait to see if it took hold locally to me before picking up another game.

Scale was a problem for me. I was hoping for 6-8mm so i could use my old epic miniatures. Like LI i will cherry pick items that will fit my scale preference. Too many infantry and vehicles in old scale to give them up.

I got a chance to see the minis at Salute a few weeks ago and I would say they are 10-12mm. In practice, I think they would be visually indistinguishable scale-wise from Legions Imperialis miniatures, but would probably be a bit big alongside classic GW Epic infantry.

I've backed for the rules and two armies (I think the Forge Fathers/Space Dwarves and Plague). Was definitely hoping for something quick & clean after Legions Imperialis, which I enjoy at times but is just so granular and takes so long to play. However an early report indicated 4 hours for a game (?!) I haven't been able to corroborate that with any other reports yet, but if that is the case the rules will be staying in the box unfortunately and I'll just use EA or NetEpic rules with the minis.

i really want to see the space dwarves because this may be what pushes me to finally make a squat army
