How many folks are giving AI19 a try, and how far down the rabbit hole are you going?
I've decided to pick up more or less one each of the initial release, as I loved the old AI07, and it seems like this is very similar, except using a hex map.
...and I think the miniatures are going to be a blast to paint. Modern GW plastics are much improved from the resin of a decade ago.

I'm planning on trying it as soon as a moody PDF ends up falling onto my laptop. I'm too heavily invested in the OG flyers to bother with replacements. I've seen people already busting out custom gaming maps

The minis are mind blowing amazing. I did a mini review of the dakkajets in the other thread. I am totally blown away by the details. Deep panel lines, lots of detail but not cluttered.
I doubt I will be playing it but I will probably try to buy one of each kit to add stuff to Epic. I doubt I will buy into any of the sets, as the first one looks really poor. Paper map and a half arsed rulebook made to get you to buy cards and other books. Scummy DLC.
If I had a fellow player near my, I'd possible be dragged into it, but as I only play at home I'll be sticking with just kits I can add to Epic. I love vanguard kits but building plastic kits is probably my favourite, or at least most relaxing part of the hobby. I can spend my time building these and converting later sets (as I want to build a set 'as is' first)
I don't own any of the old ships, other than just three Epic 3rd Ed era ork jets (which I think were sculpts from 2nd era anyway). For some reason I never brought a single plane or jet when Epic was out. I've no idea why. So I'm not tied in with any previous collection.

Just thought I'd share this.
I wanted something different for my Ork Flyboss, so I did a little bit of snipping, cutting, and added a bit more Dakka...
Pretty pleased with the result.

anyone got the tiniest new dakkajet build up next to the old AI1 FW fightabomba as a comparison? wondering if the smallest of the new stuff can slot in the sames as the larger older stuff
