Time for another update!
I've been quiet for a few months, but that's because there's about two dozen Battletech battlemechs, five more titans, 8 thunderbolt proxies, and three formations of Skitarii and Cybernetica support primed and awaiting paint, now. Oh yeah, and this guy:
So yeah, I've been busy preparing for warm enough weather to safely prime again. Now if it would only stop raining long enough for me to hit the Warlord... He's ready to go, broken down into painting sub-assemblies, and all four hard-points are magnetized (not that I trust the arms to hold, mind you - those might wind up getting permanently attached...).

My greenstuff & plasticard skills aren't quite up to par, so I'm relying on brass etch and bitz box components, along with my paint scheme. I wanted to try to add some spikes to the armor plate corners like the Chaos Reaver has (post-photo), but I just couldn't get things consistent enough. Ah well. Pretty sure folks will understand what I'm getting at here with Suturvora's latest reinforcement. If I can get this guy painted in time for June, I'll start work on assembling the Banelord and Siegelord. Really looking forward to adding some demonic corruption to the former and scratch-building a corvus assault pod for the latter!
As part of this wave of reinforcements, I'm adding a close combat Reaver (power fist is going to be a permanent attachment, given the weight and dynamism), as well as a handful of new weapon systems.
So here's "Princeps Morgan" - or at least his leg assembly:
Yup - he's got a little "Captain" in him

I sawed and sanded down the classic land raider - it's going to be smashed down into the ground and buckling from the weight of the Reaver, the desert sands piling up around it. Oh yeah, and one other bit to note - I've decided that I'm going to flag Veteran Princeps and Legate upgrades by adding magnetized tech priests to my titans' bases where relevant. I'll be using the Cybershadows Command Node pack for that. I figure it's the fairest way to be clear on exactly which Warhound is the one you want to kill out of the pack, stuff like that

You can see the first example in this Reaver's photo. It's going to be a little more interesting retrofitting my other two Reavers and four Warhounds, but should be a fun challenge. Not messing with that until I'm ready to paint bases on the new stuff though.
Along with the new Reaver, here's a shot of some of the weapons I'm adding to their overall arsenal:
I'm particularly proud of my Laser Burner conversion (currently mounted in the dorsal socket) - a combination of a pair of lascutters from another 6mm kit, combined with a dorsal turbolaser. I might do something similar for my AT18 stuff, eventually, using Horus Heresy Breacher Squad lascutters. Nothing like industrial cutting tools for a good bear hug, huh?
While I was at it, I wanted an arm-mounted melta cannon for my Suturvora Reavers too - but I wanted it to match the chaos doomburner style, so this little project kicked off as well:
From left to right, that's a volcano cannon for scale comparison, a "loyalist" melta cannon, the dorsal doomburner, and then the finished product - and yes, that sucker's pinned. I only trust superglue so far on its own. That said, I can now run a Reaver with a power fist, melta cannon, and laser burner - midfield objective campers beware!
So yeah, I have about a week and a half before I go on vacation and then transition straight into a customer audit at work (travel required), but after that I'll have another four weeks ahead of NEAT's tentative date. I give myself reasonable odds of completing the Reaver, the Warlord, and at least two of the new Warhounds before the next tournament. Wish me luck!
As always, juiciest highlights here & more detail photos on my blog
