Well, the spell trio of "copy, cut and paste" helps alot.

But another reason that I use Notepad is that all the good HTML editors wont work on my old hardware. Bah, no WYSIWYG editor will, AFAIK.

On other hand, it has some kind of feel to code in Notepad... it's like converting and painting another miniature, you know. You don't have it when you use editors...

I think that minimizing the extraneoys graphics in return for more content is always a good bet, but that's just me: practical to the limits.

I advise you to use the most powerful HTML editor ever... the humble Notepad. I used it to code pretty much entirety of my site.

I prefer Textpad, it handles symbols better and you can perform syntax checking with it too in a number of languages.

As for the graphics - speaking as the EPICentres webmaster of... I don't know how many years (but more than one...) I can tell you that graphics are vital to a website. WM Nices site is fairly quick for a 56k modem and for a gallery showcase presentation is everything.

I still dream of beautifying the EPICentre but it is somewhat difficult :). Thankfully our content manages to sell itself :D.

I suppose I could back track and find out...... if there was a way of tracking down cached files from when I hosted it on www.webbsoft.org.... I think that was the earliest URL... all though there might have been a yahoo one first - or was that later? :S

Hi!

There are many things that get fuzzy as the years go by. I guess i should compile a trivia list if no other reasons than a laugh or two a couple of more years down the road.

Hi!

I'll come up with a list of ten questions and I'll post them.  :)

I am still using the geocities advanced HTML editor, unfortunately my free site keeps overloading with visitors these days, especially since it was linked from the GW site.  Once I have money again that problem will be fixed...

They asked for people's favourite epic sites in a thread on the official boards.

Those that Jervis/the team use themselves & The most mentioned from the thread got listed on the site links.
