++ SUFFER NOT THE TRAITOR TO LIVE ++
With that singular all channels vox burst, the Iron Hands made their final push through the ruined hab stacks. All that stood before them were swept away in a relentless tide of black adamintine armour. Whether this was a statement of intention or an open challenge to their most hated opponents, the Iron Warriors, couldn't be said by the countless guard regiments surrounding the hive. All they understood was that death had come for the traitors.Attachment:

The Iron Hands were one of the few remaining Imperial forces capable of maintaining the highly-advanced Fellblade super-heavy battle tank. Once fielded in their hundred by the Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade of the late 30th Millennium they were almost mythical by the Latter Imperial Crusades. Barely controlled technology from Dark Age, the Volkite Carronade used by the Glaive was able to make short work of all but the most heavily armoured enemy vehicles and structures.Attachment:

painter's notes:What did I need next? A 'Uge Frickin' Tank! Probably usable as an IF Fellblade in play.
Really this was a direct homage of the larger studio model from FW, just debigerized. All sorts of brass and bronze doohikies all over. The base had special attention paid to it. The main surface was actually two .75 mm sheets progressively cut back to outline the large crater surface to the right of the vehicle. Up front a large walkway bordering a burned out building framing the tank to draw you eye in. The interior flooring was actually an uneven wash a VGC Cayman Green with multiple splotchy bits of GW camoshade, AP strong tone, and nulin oil (for the burn marks). Way loud but once you get the various rubble and powders over it, it gives the appropriate non-uniformity you need for destroyed scenery. So #tmyk. The craters were quickly modeled up around the embedded figures on the base using wall putty and then hit with Graveyard earth washes. Beastial brown was blended deeper in the crater and then the edges were stippled with Intermediate Grey to ease the transition to the rubble from the dirt. Throw on some dry earth and concrete dust from Mig to blend together and then mig rocket exhaust for the scorching. The heat discoloration was the same formula outlined on the Leman Russ Destroyers a few pages back.
