We got another test game in tonight, but due to time constraints only played with (roughly) 2k forces:

The bigger distance between the midline objectives definitely spread out the action in the game, but we'd also taken care to put a large block of area terrain in the middle of the table to divide things up further.

Has anyone else played the mission?

I'll decide closer to the time but I'm very likely to come, particularly if I can get a lift from Bristol with someone (if not I might bicycle down).

The alternative mission sounds great! Nice to have variety from the tournament scenario.

Is it a 10am start for games on the day?

That's the plan. I'll go and add a schedule to the first post.

Auto win on the "most traveled" prize i reckon! Though, Exeter has seen a participant from Germany once... :-)

Mark and I tried the mission this evening. Eldar vs Dark eldar. I was surprised that air assaults and gates actually worked pretty well - partly given the lower number of objectives meant you could focus on clearing the enemy off one per turn. One quick question - is it the army with the lowest number of activations which goes first every turn or is that only on turn 1? We played the former and it definitely made for an interesting game - it actually affected decisions about going after chaff as it meant going second on turn 2. A thumbs up from us!

It's just the first turn, and as it's based on the army list it wouldn't change anyway - but that's a really neat idea to try out!

And attendee list updated, thanks Dan!

Going first on turn 1 is generally only a big deal if you have a spaceship/alpha strike option or you're trying to eek out an activation advantage. It did work well for me as I was able to teleport in a unit of scourges, knowing I'd go first and use them to destroy a unit of night spinners.

It made it a very different game (and pretty fun) to know you were going 1st or 2nd in the following turn!

Plus most importantly - ticket bought!

One further question - does counting units for the objectives happen before or after daeomons vanish?
