You need to put 2 or 3 sashimono on the mecha for the full sengoku jidai effect :D

I'm interested in seeing the background fluff for this if there's any.

Middle-coat and cleanup is finished! All that's left is highlights, edging, cleanup, detailing and insignia! Practically done. At this phase it's super easy to lose nerve, because it still looks "dirty." But when it cleans up I'm hoping it will carry a battle-worn look, which is what I'm going for, like the tanks above. This model though - all the PANELS and GREEBLIES! Whoo!

A giant ashimono is great idea! I may try that!

By the way, the background only really exists in my own head - I'm making it all up myself. But it's basically the Warring States period in SPACE! Including meddling Europeans - Catholics, Protestants, Muscovites... American merchants and mercenaries out for a buck...

Finishing and highlighting finally done! Still need to add some markings and some basing material, then go at it with some matte sealer. But the outcome is pretty acceptable!

I appreciate the kind words, guys!

And more progress - I've prototyped the color scheme for the Uesugi Clan's main rival, the Kanda Clan. The Kandas are behind in advanced gunnery but well ahead in computer technology and artificial intelligence. The red and gold pattern-breaker worked remarkably well, I think!

Thanks, man! I usually prefer cool colors like blue and purple myself, so this was something of a departure for me. But it's a sharp contrast and I was pretty pleased with it. Red and yellow are hard colors to work with.
