Gosh

I was thinking of building a Templar army, no way now, can't compete with that!

Brilliant work mate! There's a sweet smell of fluff in the painting and converting.

I love it!

cheers all.

Hoping to get some good hobby time in over the holidays, but there are so many project choices to make … i think i might deviate from the black templars (as i have a functional marine army anyway) to work on an army i bought on these forums last month. But, just incase i get distracted again, ill start with sharable/common elements.

First off, a pair of marauder bombers, these 2 SM minis to count as marauder destroyers

these are reallllly fun to paint, as were the SM tbolts i did this time last year. that said the windows on the mauraders are a right pane.

I painted up a couple of those myself years back. They are definitely fun models overall but the windows are a touch excessive :)

Nice green. I had to cut the lascannon off on mine, too damn big. I think they look a lot better without them.

good to see we're on the same page, Stormwind :)

Dave, got a link to your down-gunned maruaders? think ill keep mine as is as it makes them stand out as destroyers, but im curious.

I was looking at your flyers for colour 'inspiration' just now as it happens Vaaish, when finished off these tbolts:

hehe, not sure how much inspiration you'll get out of those shots. Really bad contrast and color balance in a lot of my older pics. My marauders look flat gray when they actually are far more of a blue gray.

Yeah, I went looking for colour ideas on miniwars, saw yours, decided id just copy yours (! ;) ), then realised they looked a very odd in-between colour in the photos. I tried a very dark blue, black with fenris grey blah blah then just gave up and did adaptus battlegrey

more planes, the e40k/SG marauders are my least favourite metal flyer. While the SM marauders are to count as destroyers, these will be regular bombers.

and the three sets of flyer from the past couple of weeks:

hoping to get round to starting on the army proper today
