Good to see some progress on a Kroot List.
Personally I'd quite like to employ them for The Greater Good.
So a specialist list would be fine for the Kroot spearhead.
That is one serious big game hunter. Getting a big enough
"elephant gun" onto a (Onslaught) figure will be a challenge/project.
I always quite liked the idea of a kindred bodyguard type unit.
Basically a Master Shaper but without the leader/shaper characteristics.
Could be additional units or a replace a standard infantry unit.
The tracker unit with an armour of 4+ seems pretty tough.
And pretty fast for somebody . . . tracking a trail.
Adding a supreme commander would likely see them being put with
a Krootox unit to take advantage of the Ar 4+ save.
How did you feel about other schemes to give some fluff to the
Kroot Warsphere's no orbit, directly land on the planet, and spill
the troops out. I assume that this is behind your landing pods
for all option. Is that 25 points for every unit that drop pods?
Still stalled on my Kroot painting. Some time next month to
wield the paint brush.
Glad to see more support, ideas.
The big game hunter uses a regular Kroot rifle with the addition of a power blade, maybe look to add a nice blade a a trophy rack.
I'm not sure about the bodyguard unit, there are several elite units already, the Tracker you mentioned being one of them. The Trackers can move fast while tracking because they don't track like humans, but with various enhanced senses.
I have considered using the Warsphere both in space and on land. Using it on land (as in the fluff) would be harder to represent. I considered using it as the blitz with a barrage weapon. Any suggestions for its use otherwise are worth considering.
Drop pods are 25pts each per unit. The price point looks about right. These can be launched from the Warsphere or the Troopship. These originate in the fluff from the initial landing on a planet by the shaper to negotiate a deal for use of his mercenary army, prior to the warspheres' landing/crash on the planet.
All the best with the painting. Remember that the adaptations rules means that painting your kindreds different colours (to identify adaptations) is a possibility.
