it has certainly been a few months since I sat and put brush to model... a combination of illness, pokemon go and general feelings of ennui towards the hobby in general have kept me away, but I'm back and gathering some momentum, it's the GT in 4 weeks time and I can't take the Imperial Fists totally legit Dark Angels successor chapter Angels of Vigilance off the shelf again

I'm still fiddling around with the Mymeara vanity project, and the Red Corsairs remain unapproved, so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone, paint up an army for the GT AND get an army ready to push the Red Corsairs list to approval

I present to you a couple of WIP pics of this week's efforts

the army as it stands:

closeup on some copperachnids I'm working on, far from the finished article, but I'm liking the results so far!

Nice! How fun are they to put together hey!
I went through and pinned all... all of the joints... madness!
Keep up the good work.
Cheers

Oh yeah they are a total riot.... Blood slaughterers are next and I just get the shakes every time I get them out to assemble, then quietly put them back in the bag again....

Haha too true.
They are worth it though. They look fantastic and you can really go to town in positioning them scrambling over stuff or rearing up. Worth the pain. But hard to get the motivation to start on them!
Cheers

These are fab!

I've been thinking of getting a World Eaters force, myself, it's good to know I could use it for another list like Corsairs too.

Forgot to say, i love the shading you have achieved with the red, especially when compared to contrast of the little black nasty next to it. Great stuff.
Cheers

Thanks guys, I'm pretty pleased with it, it's pretty easy to achieve too, drybrush blending starting with sanguine highlight and then khador red base, I prefer it to the other scheme but *really* dont know if I can face disassembling the black one to strip and repaint.....

I've been looking at my angry arachnid and evil salad chopping monsters sitting in a bag, on my workbench, for 4 years now. I still haven't gathered the willpower to tackle them. As to one black and one red, I rather like that they each have some personality to them. I might suggest going back to the black and enhancing the gradient on the highlight to the levels you have on the red but they're pretty much aceballz...

what's the base on them going to be like?

The basing is still undecided... I'm not sold on either ash world or desert tan.... Suggestions very welcome!
