Would you then mean a turret mounted warp cannon instead?

I'd do a plug-on that moulds to the form of the hull fixed fowards.

Oh like that, but that's already assuming the Flitter tanks would be re-done right?

No I have a concept that would work with the existing flittertank hull.

Has anyone got any pics of the flitter tanks in the metal or painted? The renders look ace imho.

Extra turret options could be a good idea with the uk armoured space elf list just getting a buff...

Great feedback here guys just what i'm after for a starting direction for expansion of the eloi.

As E&C has stated i'm not a real fan of the flitter tank aesthetic it's a nice enough model but a little pedestrian for my liking i'm not inspired by the overall shape and to be honest i'm funding all this stuff out of my rapidly diminishing profits so if i'm funding it I have to like it and want to use it with my own collection.

Love the modern eldar vehicles but obviously can't copy them need to find something else that I like and the community can get behind.

Ok well if we are listing priorities purely for EA purposes, these are the most critical IMO (as a long time elf player):
long looker & man witches (think ezisting Eloi would cover for now)
citizen guard with guns (Eloi established)
transport tanks (to carry 10), sold in pairs
tank with laser cannon (threes)
tank with anti air weapon (pairs)
scouts with rifles (pack of 20)
specialists with short range heat guns
specialists with backpacks and guns
large transport aircraft
robots
heavy tank with artillery gun
hover bikes
fighter aircraft
tank with big laser
weapon platforms

Obviously that's quite a list so perhaps it is worth prioritising according to what is not available elsewhere and maybe work on similar types together. For example I don't think it's useful to have one type of tank, you can only buy into them if your other ones match. As a player you are going to want the three I listed together (transport, laser, anti air) all at the same time. If you had a consistent range of vehicles I think that would be key. Infantry are important too but are arguably much easier to fudge and also for space elves means a large number of different models. Whereas if you had two or three shooty tanks, one transport tank and preferably two or three super tanks (reusing hulls of course) people can buy into them (and likely not before) whether they use the Eloi infantry or not.

But then I dont know what the relative cost of developing infantry vs tanks is. I do wonder if the tanks are more critical in terms of aesthetics though, so one might theorise that people will wait to see what those are going to look like.

Tanks are going to be hard to nail down I still need a look I can get into.

I did consider going ultra modern and do a stealth plane style look to them with smooth flat panels but most people seem to want a grown look which stealth style models would not address so it's difficult. I like the stealth idea as it would allow some leeway in using similar established designs but with a different visual aspect but that's just me.

Can you guys post some vehicle ideas here that you feel most potential eloi collectors would embrace.

Have to agree completely with Kyrt (and he is much more experience than me in the EA community than me). Tanks are the really hard item to proxy and there are virtually no other alternatives out there.

Imho the flitter tanks would fulfil most peoples aesthetic for space elves. A small add on pack with a new turret and force field generator prow would be an obvious easy win. With some of the other turrets discussed above you cover almost all the ground apart from heavy tanks.

Stealth-style planes would also be also work well along side them for many options, including naughty space elves too. Depending on the design it might even satisfy some space fish players which are lacking flyer options currently. And more generic sci-fi players of other systems too potentially?

It's nice to see you posting around the place again, @Evil and Chaos! I was recently looking into your EA Titan game as an interested lurker!

Like @Kyrt says, I think people (especially new players) are pushed a little towards mechanised infantry because of the similarities between EA and modern, mobile warfare. And, after all, at 6 mm scale, individual vehicles are much more distinctive than individual infantry models. Although I also might prefer a different aesthetic to the current flittertanks, I think @Kyrt has a good point about if the variant flittertank armaments were available: having a cohesive range to start gives much stronger motivation to buy into the range. Maybe an easy solution is to reuse the hulls and just produce the missing weapon/turret upgrades as a separate mould? Just as another idea floating around out there :)

@moredakka I know what you mean about modern Eldar vehicles! I think maybe the real problem is that GW produced a really great theme and we just want them to come back and look after it properly :P

For me, the key element design of the Eldar tanks is the bat-wing-like aspect and I think the motif of swept-forwards bat wings is IP-safe (due to its commonness, multiple interpretations, and due to, well, bats). Earlier, I posted a link to a Lego reconstruction of the Lego Movie Batwing as a design theme I really like personally, particularly the shape of the wings and the wing spars. Incidentally, being black (and really dark grey) and interestingly-angled, they made me think of stealth plane technology which I think was an intentional part of the recent Batman vehicle design teams.

So, my suggestion is something similar to that design: to me, it seems distinctive, similar to the old design (without copying it outright), uncommon in the 6 mm miniatures world, and stylish in its own way.

Anyway, some food for thought,
Thinking Stone

As an afterthought, maybe it would be interesting to have a poll about Eloi vehicle design themes?

Who are these elder, you are referring to? Again , forward swepty designs are not exactly unusual in sci-fi. Don't over think this. For me, most elements are there in the flitter. But it looks boring. I think it has something to do with the angles.

I agree. Nothing wrong with the flitter tanks in my own view.

Thanks! I think the standard infantry is set, same goes for the commanders and snipers. As soon as you get the giant walkers and tanks set you're really ready to go here. So lets toss in some more ideas until you've got something that can be mashed/mixed together into something everybody can be happy with. :)

Something else I bounced into:
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/sle ... obj/745178
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xenonauts-artwork

On a different note, some ideas for infantry:
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/o23eJ
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/r9X22
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9yvLL
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/POzKZ

https://www.artstation.com/artwork/g9EGL
https://pp.vk.me/c624525/v624525883/17c ... vRUBQs.jpg

The Pan's Labyrinth vibe (but the general Guillermo del Toro aesthetic, look at the elves from Hellboy 2 for example) is quite obvious here, might not be that weird. It fits the more organic aesthetic, and we see that the big company has been sort of adding those to their elves and (naughty) space elves.

Yeah, some great concepts there. Funny - the assault tank looks like a sleek version of the Chris Nolan era batwing - history repeats itself! :-)
