People have constantly bemoaned all the GW stuff as being undersized....
Sometimes I think these are on the large side but I am loving them all the same, more than all my old stuff and forumware I am beginning to discover.

Well there you go can't please everybody.

Your not the first to tell me that their interest in the older models has waned with the introduction of so many new designs appearing i've experienced a similar change of attitude since i've been leading the design work on my own models, all the once covetted forumware goodies are starting to fade from memory.

Thanks guys for all the feedback much appreciated this model will be off to the printers very soon.

Maybe that means we’ll all be happy to switch to 8mm in a few years, despite our best intentions…

Dunno, some of your minis are closer to being 8mm models of vehicles that are slightly too small in-universe.

I went to check, but your newer models don't have dimensions on the website (and you're not alone in that). But it does seem to work out that way for a few things.

@Carlisimo109 - I am saddened that the Vanguard stuff does not meet your hopes and desires for expanding your existing armies.

Have to say I cant think of a single site where there are detailed dimensions of vehicles, except possibly some sellers on shapeways. It all looks different in the flesh and then different again when painted.
General feedback of my Vanguard models when on display at my painting demos has been an overwhelming positive one on their size be much more appropraite.

@Cranium: check your PM.

@Carlisimo: regarding the Novan Warrior IVF, its hull (without the turret) is 22mm wide by 11mm tall by 36mm long.

The battletank's hull (without turret) is 17.5mm wide (not counting the side sponsons which each is 3.25 wide) by 12mm tall by 30mm long (not counting the laser cannon that adds about 6mm).

@rest of you: any other feedback for the standard version of this battletank before I can send it off to Vanguard?

The infantry does! I love those little dudes, especially the desert infantry. I also like (and have) Beast-class and Dictum superheavies. Medium tank sort of vehicles are a little more difficult to integrate into my existing armies… but once figure out how to be a dad and a hobbyist I’d like to start a Cybershadows army and since it’d be new I wouldn’t have any such issues.

Thanks! That makes the battletank longer than a 1/285 M1 Abrams, Tiger II, or Mark IV. The Warrior is similar in length to a 6mm Maus. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, just a bit big for me.

Very nice; I could see myself getting a bunch of these - especially if a few more turret and sponson options were available - energy guns, rotary miniguns, twin-barrel low-calibre guns and short large-calibre cannon would all be useful...

In the meantime, started working on a variant turret, a long range anti-armour cannon. Note that the cannon will still need detailing:

@SpeakerToMachines: All in good time. First plan is the get the basic tank up and ready. Then the first two variants: anti-armour (see above) and anti-bunker (return of the bunker buster cannon). Depending on how well they are received I can ponder about more variants...

All the epic vehicle models are bigger than GHQ's 1/285 scale stuff and have always been so it's nothing new. Even GHQ dosen't stick to 1/285 scale you only need look at the modern infantry range to see that 7 to 8mm infantry in most packs.

But as stated epic has always been bigger as are most other "6mm" sci fi ranges.
