Personally, I've had no issues with them at all. They're the paints I use 90% of the time (with the rest being mostly Reaper Master Series and one or two P3 paints - the latter of which I'm not so fond of, personally, but some colours are rather unique). The Vallejo paints I've used all flowed well enough, thinned with just water, didn't dry badly on a wet palette and the colours matched up to the GW-paint-painted models I already had perfectly.

Of course, I suck at painting, so that testimony might just be the blind leading the blind. ;)

DK - Well... maybe I could get a bottle of Tinny Tin and check it out. I do like Vallejo's Model Air Metallics. It's just what I need: more paints. I already have...

Vallejo Model Color - 120+ pots
Foundry - 100+ pots
Reaper MSP HD - 36 pots
GW - 25 pots
Vallejo Model Air - 15 pots
Vallejo Game Color - 20 pots and climbing

It's pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty ridiculous.

Here's another angle on those Thunderers.

Its not what you have, but what you do with it that counts.
In your case it counts a lot :D

Thanks! But it is still embarrassing to have spent so much money on paints. I almost certain that I have a problem.

Ha ha!

Lovely work.

Given that collection Jeff perhaps you could tell me what's a good solid yellow like GW Yriel yellow (which was GW golden yellow?)

Preferably something from Vallejo?

Well opinions and arseholes and they all stink but here's mine...

VMC/VGC are fantastic for coverage though a flow enhancer is a good idea to put a drop in (though water will work too). However I am less enthused about the metallics and like AP over them for that OR even better, is to use airbrush metallics (as you do) due to the finer pigments which look better at 6mm IMHO (unless you're doing tracks, then you want to go the other way). Another bonus for VGC is that the "heavy X" colors are formulated to be color match to the previous GW color line.

Try [drum roll] Gold Yellow! :)

THIS may be of use, folks.

SquadPainter,

Great thunderers but I'd make those "clips" on the Heavy Bolters gunmetal/silver just to break them up visually (or perhaps the ends of just the barrels?). Your Squats are quite possibly the best I've seen so far!

The clip, the end barrel or that little detail on the side. Breaking it up would offer something, even if this...

PS. AIRSHIP.

Not Foundry yellow. Ever. Their yellow is pretty, but it is practically translucent.

I've been very happy with Reaper MSP HD paints. Their two yellows (golden and lemon) cover better than the others. I still have to do multiple coats, but not nearly as many as other brands.

It has been a while since I used my Vallejo Model yellows, and I don't have any Vallejo Game Color yellows yet, so I can't comment on those. I hope that helps!

I thought of that as well, but I was unable to tell what sort of weapon they were holding. Is it a heavy bolter? A missile launcher? I wanted to look at a reference. Since I didn't know, I defaulted to black. But I agree with you, it could use something else. Once I figure out what they are holding and get a good picture, I'll add a little something.

There's two sorts of Squat heavy weapons, as I recall. The ones with the magazine pointing upwards is intended to be a missile launcher, while the one with the magazine infront of the hand and pointing downwards (which appear to be the painting ones you have in the image) are intended to be heavy bolters.

Squat Heavy Bolter Clicky
and
Squat Missile Launcher Clicky
Admittedly, the missile launcher is a converted RTB01 plastic piece, but I can't find a good example of a missile launcher for old squats.
