Squats sneak a 2-0 turn 3 win (blitz & t&h) against the krieg. The overlord actually had a good game downing 3 tbolts. Its aa gunners proving as accurate as Flo's gorgon barrages which after doubling and firing into cover sniped 2 hearthguard and my sc.

the crucial assault. Flo's infantry Co trapped in it's gorgons by my bezerkers loses a whole gorgon and all the infantry inside in assault res.

Really fun start into the season for me with the game against Squats. :)
Though a bit unfortunate with the 2-0 from Capture the Flag & Blitz. One of his last activations broke the formation holding the blitz and my mobile formations have all been committed in the middle of the table. Well done, Steve.

Steve's combination of rather untouchable barage and super laser, aka Goliath and Leviathan, has been very very effective against the Krieg and made me miss a turn of assaults with my Gorgons.

Have been baited into mis-using the Tbolts which thought they can hunt the Overlord, should have just ignored that bugger and leave him be on his flank. Lesson learned.

Like Steve said, the game turned with the first activation of turn 3. Both of us where set up for a juicy double assault/crossfire shooting and i managed to loose initiative...

Anyway, tomorrow is a new day. Looking forward to the next game! ;)

Yeah, that was so rubbish.
Fair enough getting trapped, after avoiding heavy rocket barrage attacks. The sting was that Steve was still only +1 on resolution and i managed to roll shit the whole game and especially then when the rolls where a 4 vs a 2 if i remember correctly.
:nooo
The fearless Commissar Gorgon passed along all three hackdowns to the Gorgon next to it and none of the troops inside made their rescue save. :-\

4 hour battle between Radek's templars and my squats ends in a narrow victory for the squats. A vicious turn 1 orbital bombardment by the templars saw   a unit of aa guns broken and an infantry Co demeched. Planetfall devs then broke my gyros who never rallied. The squats then basically castled up to ward off further damage and the Cyclops sniped out the landing craft. I then concentrated on getting as many bms as possible on Radek's aircraft.

Turn 2 saw a lot of failed activations but ended tightly balanced. I broke both of Radek's speeder formation's (one with the Cyclops the other with a cheeky rhino clipping assault). Radek pounded and broke  the bezerkers guarding my blitz. The squats ended the turn in a decent position on the table but with 2 fully loaded thunderhawks ready to assault on turn 3.

Turn 3 essentially came down to activations. I had more and was able to wait out the marine air assaults before catching and destroying the terminators in a huge assault between 2 infantry cos. The highlight was undoubtedly the terminator thunderhawk which, with 1 wound remaining, survived crossfire shooting from an infantry Co and the colossus. Game ended 2-0 turn 3 to the squats (BTS & DTF)

Well done, Squats! :)
The board states where weirdly fun to watch with the Marines playing the air assault game and not much on the board. Sure they'll do better next time and make that awesome paint job proud!

Radek, you need to practise to fasten up your game ;)

After having totally efed up my scheduled April game with Alan ( :gah ), we are now looking at the 2nd week of May.

My White Scars took on the Krieg last night. I had a great first turn but it all went wrong on the second when the 3 gorgon infantry formations hit home. Officially we ran out of time in the middle of the 3rd turn with Florian up by about 350 VPs.

So a winning draw for Flo, and that pushes Nick up to 2nd place. Looked like a great game!

Those below me have had losses to the mighty squats - my turn a week Monday :P

BTW looks like you do have to base to base when you enter or start in a ZoC - see my question asked and answered today on the rules section :) :geek

I stand corrected for the time being and hope for a clarification about 'starting' the assault in a zone of control.

Anyway, had a great game against the White Scars and confident that the game would have gone in my favour if time would have allowed. In a perfect world i would have played for a tie in turn three to see a turn 4 which then would have allowed me to sweep his forces away ^_^

On a side note, Nicks dice rolled either 1s or 6s... was bonkers, haha

Next week will see my April game against Alan's Tyranids. Really looking forward to this.
Steve's dominance aside, the table looks pretty open for everybody else. :)
