Time for an update, because you can never have too many Disrupt Barrage weapons and I needed to paint a couple more units for Tim's Exeter Entrenchment event...
Some more Contagion Engines, in a different style to the upside-down Land Raider-based ones. The construction is pretty fast and simple and is designed to echo both Whirlwinds and Manticores. It's a placcy Rhino with the top hatch carved off and a 40k Missile Launcher (from a Sentinel?) mounted on the top. Finishing touches include some spare metal inside the Rhino bodies to give them some heft and then some Nurglesque triple circles on the top to disguise where a skull had been moulded onto the ML casing.
Greens partially done. Although it's not entirely clear in this photo, the two on the right have had a thin coat of Green Thy Name is Bilious while the two on the left have also had a thin wash of Imperial Strike Green mixed with green and yellow glazes and chestnut ink which gives them that extra little bit of depth and detail:
Mostly done apart from a brown/chestnut wash on the metallics:
While I was at it, the green/brown/yellow wash was also applied to the Vindicators, plus orange and purple areas. Still a fair amount of work needed on these though.
And because there was
still some wash left over, I started applying some to strategic parts of the newly re-undercoated GUC. He'd been undercoated when doing the Vindicators and then immediately afterwards I saw all the mould lines which were why he'd not been undercoated yet.
Some filing later and he was ready to go again.
Anyway, I got a bit carried away because he's such a lovely sculpt and makes a good break from all the vehicles. Apart from adding some whiteheads to all the pustules I'm calling him done.
Without further ado, I present to you Uncle Fester!
While doing the bases for the Contagion Engines and Uncle Fester I mixed up a lot of extra colours to do the 60mm bases for the Plaguelord and Plague Tower. I do love a good base, even without a model on it!
With the Plaguelord, tracks done in the same mix of Coat d'Arms bronze mixed with chestnut ink and a little water that was used on the Contagion Engines:
The Plague Tower base got a lot more splatter around the tracks.
Group shot of the recent work, Scarily, the Plague Tower and Contagion Engines is a legal formation in the Epic Uk list. He he he...
