I've read this guys. Nice to see that there's a lot of interest already :D

I can confirm that we have decided for the weekend of 21-22 of may. Me and the others will be discussing and see if we can come up with some more concrete info within a few weeks at least. As for lists we haven't decided yet. We (the main organizers) all play netEA so that might be an indicator.

Hi again!

We'd like some input from those of you who would consider going to an event like this in general and of course Stockholm 2016 in particular. Would you prefer to play 3 (saturday) + 2 (sunday) games as is tradtion? Or would you like a more relaxed scehdule with 2 + 2 games to get some more time to see the city while your visiting?

Personally I'd say 3+2, if people want to do touristy stuff then come earlier on friday

The main issue for these events is travel. IMO people will need to plan to travel on days other than the competition days (ie Friday and Monday), leaving Saturday and Sunday for games. If people want to go site-seeing this also needs to be done on non-competition days (the Wasa is well worth a visit, and is a good half day on its own!)

One day (three games) is probably too few, so I would vote for two days 3-2 as well, not least because that allows people to face greater diversity in their opponents.

Calendar block reserved. I'll see if I can assemble a full Team DK this year.

I prefer 3+2; Allows for travel out on friday and travel home on sunday with minimal requirements on extra time off from work.

I strongly advise against planning for travel home on Sunday!! The French did this for the EEC in the UK, and to accommodate them we ended up playing FOUR games on Saturday - which was exhausting!

The point is that air travel takes a lot of time on the ground, and unless you are planning to fly late in the evening (assuming there is a suitable flight scheduled for that time) this will inevitably impact on the time available for games on Sunday leaving everyone flustered.

Depends on the destination, of course. From Stockholm to Copenhagen there are practically hourly flight every day...

I would of course like if the two games on sunday concluded sometime between lunch and dinner.

I may have exams again, and although I really wish it wasn't so, I can't see a Team Norway happening without me. So I'm going to have to ask if we can sign up in january/february again.

Flights sunday, wasn't the issue that the airline switched the departure time around for the french team?
