Hi, just got my hands on my first ever set of shapeways prints - blimey they are pretty ! I think I've just seen the future !

Quick question : how do I need to prep these for paint? It's frosted ultra detail material but I notice some already have a slightly oily shine. Is washing up liquid enough or is something more drastic called for?

Cheers.

Warm water , dish soap and a tooth brush should do it. They do have stuff that will mess up primer sticking to them on them.

the material is slightly porous, one of my friends recommends spraying them with a very thin coat of varnish to seal them prior to painting
