I've finished my Gargant, although I haven't based him yet since my local GW didn't have any titan bases. ?I was surprised how easy it was to paint, most of it was just slapping paint on in a very sloppy way. I followed the Dropship 40,000 guide to start with but then changed a bit.
To paint him I took his arms, head and chain off then I Undercoated it black, then lightly painted it with a mix of ?Tin Bitz, Brazen Brass and Scorched Brown, leaving some black showing through in places. Then I painted some streaks randomly all over the model with Chainmail and Boldgun Metal. Next I painted the whole thing in watered down Brown Ink. Once I had done that I dry brushed everything with Boltgun Metal and kept doing it until I was happy with the metal look (it took a number of coats until it stopped looking too brown).
The result is a metal that looks dirty and speckled with rust. All that didn't take long and was very easy. The red is a single coat of Blood Red which gives a great mucky colour, I had bought all the paints to follow the guide for painting red on the Dropship site but I thought I'd give a single coat of Blood Red a shot first and it worked a treat. The teeth are Bleached Bone.
The chain was tricky, getting it stuck on and not keeping on knocking it off. Once it was on I painted it like the other but without the Brown Ink wash.

I refuse to comment on the grounds that it may incriminate me ...

I've finished the first of my SoopaGunwagonz, it needs a bit of tidying up but it will do for now. I painted it in the same way as the Gargant, something I'm going to copy again and again I think .

Since I've got a game now on the horizon *thanks The Players Index* I've shifted focus to making some terrain and a gaming board fast. I'm also thinking of making some blast markers but I have no idea how many to make. Does anyone have a rough idea of how many I would need for a 5,000 point game, using types that represent 1 BM and 5 BM's?
Thanks!

Loving the look of these orks Falesh! Re: BM question, I'd say make 10 of the 5's and 40 of the 1's, that way you won't have to make any more for a while...

Thanks for that, I think I'll have to stick with using dice for now then and put the BM's on my list for after the 2,700 points are painted.

I've been working hard making scenery and a gaming table for this game I've got on the cards, it's been going so well I thought I'd give myself a treat and finish off a model I have been playing with. You can see what the model looked like to start with here, it was Battlefortress 1. An interview with Falesh (the Warlord and Head Mek of the Kustum Killa clan) describes it:
Some new age ork woz passin through the other day. He woz pokin about a bit and wen he saw one of my battlefortresses he called it a battlewagon! A battlewagon! Can you belive it?! Well I woznt very happy about it but I couldnt just kill im and do nuffin else coz some ov my boyz had been talkin to dis guy and dey woz finking some ov my war engines were lookin a bit small too. So wot I did woz I got a few boyz to go to da clan over der hillz and pick up a few parts from a mega gargant dat dey woz takin ages to build. Wen dey got back dey had a few less boyz wiv um and a few more holes in da wagonz, but dey had da bitz. So I got sum meks to build da battlefortress up a bit and make it more shooty. Den I gave dat new age ork a battlewagon and I got in da battlefortress and I showed im it woz no stoopid battlewagon, hur hur. Da boyz are now callin it a gunfortress.
gunfortress 1 gunfortress 2 gunfortress 3
Edit: Happy Birthday kr00za!

Dat's one good looking gunfortress! I think calling Gibletgrinda a battlewagon is heresy of the worst kind!
