My armour saves have been... less than ideal, especially on the tank co. Possibly some of the worst saves i've ever had on them! The deathstrikes have managed a grand total of 3 wounds in two games, and the Vultures have yet to bag a single casualty or wound off anything. Given they make up a lot of my AT power, this has been somewhat sad. Mech Infantry have been a mixed bag, activation issues have been a bit of a problem though, and have contributed towards strugging to keep a cohesive group going, although needing something to babysit the shattered remanants of my tank co both games hasn't helped either! Funniest one though was Tim teleporting his terminators in front of the tank co in the second game, and i won initiative. I then sustain on them, do 14 wounds, and he passes all the armour saves, Failed to then retain with the Reg HQ, which then instead of assaulting shot them as well, another 10 shots, and finally bagged... 2 kills. Tanks then failed most of their saves when assaulted by 5 chaos raptors backed up by some daemons, which with another assault afterwards gutted my centre. After that it just kinda went downhill, with an unfortunate combination of lack of activations, rallies, and armour saves. The most depressing was Tim doing a cheeky assault with a single chaos biker (only one could make it in) against an infantry co, which thanks to clipping had i think 4 guys attacking) he makes the saves, although i'm still up by 1, i then snake eyes it to take it to 3-0 to him turn 4. Dismal.

Hopefully tomorrow will go a bit better!

It happens, doesn't it!

Sure tomorrow will see your luck bounce back.

Against Megs' Nids at the Euros my luck was outrageous, I couldn't miss a shot or fail an armour save... it was almost embarrassing!

I immediately followed that up against Kyrts Eldar and took until the end of T2 to inflict my first casualty! Had a shocker and nothing went my way....

Why do we do it to ourselves?!

Sounds like a fun and closely fought tournament, thanks to Tim for taking over running it and Mike for taking down the terrain

Well, things picked up for me a bit on day 2, but i've gotta say the Vultures and Deathstrikes are unlikely to see the outside of the case for quite a long time - the deathstrikes in particular, which were spectacularly bad all weekend and didn't manage to kill a single war engine.

Overall i don't think the list was quite as effective as i thought it might have been, and i think next time i'd look to get a second tank co in if i was to try something similar, or possibly even load up with shadowswords and warhounds!

Thanks to all my opponents for some interesting games, and putting up with my grumbling ;)

Tim and Charles both had some pretty astounding dice during our games though, both interestingly in the form or armour saves, with Tim managing 22 out of 24 saves with his terminators, and Charles didn't fail any i think till turn 3! I had to use static res in assaults to kill anything!

They've been distinctly underwhelming whenever i've used them - i was cautiously optimistic going into the event that they might do something, i should have known better after my practice game that they were going to be a white elephant!
