Thread resurrection!

I was wondering if any of you guys has some pictures of one of those flying beasts, painted? I am curious to see the render of the FUD.
Shapeways ain't cheap and I don't feel like paying 30$/piece for something too grainy.
I have quite a bit of shapeways stuff. Sadly, some designs are no longer available.
Jimmy once said "FUD or go home" and that's kind of been my mantra ever since. I consider FUD perfectly table-ready. Yes there are slight flaws, but while they're different from what you get in resin or pewter the overall level of quality is excellent compared to either. All told, I'd take a FUD mini over resin or pewter, but plastic is still usually better so long as the mold lines aren't visible.
For example, I got a set of turret and sponson upgrades for space elite APCs. A couple of the prints were, for lack of a better word, "frosty". Like the physical equivalent of blurry. The rest of the set was solid and I've rarely seen that happen again. On some figures, slight print lines are visible (these vanish in painting). In others, like on the front armor of my heresy-era cruiser, there are no visible lines at all.
Nolo's stuff is very pricey in FUD, so I'm curious if someone can contrast that with FD. I have some stuff in WSF and I don't consider it acceptable for Epic-scale play. However, I'd use it in a hot minute in 28mm, especially for low-detail parts like vehicle hulls.
Meanwhile, since they just introduced FED (or should we say "FrED"?) the billing is that it's suitable for casting. If it has twice the resolution of FUD, then I'd say it's pushing up against injection molded plastics in terms of quality.
